Yellow gold vs rose

As others wrote, it is depending on your skin color. YG works best for me (even more in summer with a tan) and WG just doesn't work. Never did. RG is a great one too. I never think of what looks 'old', I just buy what I love

Cartier RG is so subtle you can't go wrong with either. I am olive skinned and did yellow gold forever but found myself liking the pinker hue of rose gold. I think it's best to choose what looks best on your skin/your preferences and wear that.

I used to be all WG/silver for years ... 6 years ago, my jeweler told me to try pink gold. Best advise, it compliments my skin tone so much better. Sold all I had in WG and bought PG. I'm very pale so YG is not flattering.

RG is definitely not a trend or a fad, its been quite popular for easily 15+ years. Many companies such as Cartier some high end watch makers currently only offer certain wristwatches in rose gold. I used to think yellow gold was too 1980s, and rose gold was a bit more understated and better on a younger person than yellow gold. Now I think certain pieces can look very classic and elegant in yellow. I'm happy that I can wear any color with my skin tone. In the end, buy what looks best on you and puts the biggest smile on your face.

Hi Cartier lovers. Do you think rg is a fashion trend and may disappear in the future? Because yg is a timeless classic? What kind of gold do you think is young? And what kind of gold for mature?
I think it's popular now, but may not ever fall completely out of favor. I don't choose jewelry color based on trend but on what flatters my skin the most. I don't care for rose gold so haven't tried it, I'm native American and have very pink undertones so white gold flatters me most.

I don't know why but on me, Cartier RG looks terrible WHEN another YG piece is next to it. When I wear these 2 together, the RG looks almost dirty on me. I can't quite put a finger to it but visually it does that to me.
But I generally have no big issue with other brands' RG (eg. bvlgari and Chaumet RG seem ok on me).

I avoid Cartier RG for sure. Speaking for myself.

and just to add for fun, WG doesn't really look that good on me either (compare to YG) unless it's filled with diamonds lol.

I'm Asian with yellow towards neutral undertone.

and yes, 20-30years ago I wanted only WG/platinum. Mid life now I love YG.

I prefer Cartier yellow gold over rose. My rose cuff looks very coppery (is that a word, lol) ~ when I first got it (about 7 years ago) it was a really pretty pink gold but over time it's definitely more copper colored. However, my yellow gold bracelet is the same color it was when I purchased it (8 years ago)

Have you tried the Clash rose gold bracelet with Love&JUC yellow gold together? How do you like it on you? Thank you!

By the way, the Clash ”rose” gold leans more towards yellow gold. I wear the small Clash bracelet with my yellow gold classic love and they complement each other nicely. The Clash doesn’t look that pink, even when next to yellow.
True rose gold doesn’t suit my skin tone (I lean towards olive) but I’m happy with the color of the Clash “rose” gold.
There is a thread on the speculation of whether the yellow gold Clash will be available but it sounds unlikely since the color is already between true rose and yellow.
