I've always been a strictly white gold girl - but I feel like I've seen more people wearing yellow gold more lately. What do people do if their diamond is set in platinum and their watch is stainless - can you still go with the yellow gold? I don't know if I can make the switch! Just wanted to get others opinions..

I love diamonds and I feel that they sparkle more if set in white gold. White is also more subdued and as I like big rings, white gold is a better choice for me. It has such an elegant, refined and sporty chic feel!

And yes! You definitely can make the switch. You will look great in white gold in combination with one rose or yellow gold ring on your right hand for example. I am strictly white gold as well but I do plan to buy Pomellato stacking rings in rose gold.

I prefer white gold. My wedding set is white gold and I wear that everyday, but I wear rose and yellow gold jewelry on occasion. I used to hate yellow gold, but I started getting a few pieces because they look pretty good on me. I wouldn't call it a gold switch, but I'm mixing it up.

I am definitely a yellow gold person. Yellow gold looks better next to my skin and has a glow that I just cannot compare to anything else. My wedding set is yellow gold, and most of my valuable jewelry is set in yellow gold. I do have a few white gold pieces, of course, as it is almost impossible not to given how popular white metals have been for the last 20 years!

Sure why not! I think Yellow and Rose gold would look far better on me than Plat. as I am a pasty redhead, but I am allergic to gold and nickel so I cannot wear any of those options.

I'm fair with blond hair and I've always thought silver and white gold looked bad on me. Finally, a couple years ago, a saleswoman at small boutique put something on me and practically gasped as she said "oh you cannot wear white gold, you need yellow." It kind of made me feel better because it justified what my inclination was, if that makes sense.

I think if you like both, wear both!

I am so in love with rose gold. My wedding rings are set in it and I had my Mom's diamonds set in a right-hand ring for me in rose gold as well. Now, I am into pink gold, so I would like to have something done for me in that gold too. Not a big fan of white gold, as I have a great deal of sterling silver and it just is too much of the same look. I mix and match, though, all the time and it doesn't give me the willies.

^^Happy New Year Monica. I have not taken pics of it, it is basically a princess cut diamond 2.20ct from de beers and a furror jacot wedding band with tiny diamonds on either side of the band.

Overall, I prefer white gold even though I like *some* yellow gold.

I do NOT like the 22K orange looking gold that's very popular in Europe---I'd much rather have 14 or 18K if I am wearing yellow gold.

If it's a jewelry item with diamonds, then I DEFINITELY prefer diamonds with white gold.
