I'm building my collection of purses and so far, i have LV and CHANEL. What do you think should i get for my collection. I want timeless/classic pieces.

I would suggest a Balenciaga city, a Bottega Veneta veneta, and a Gucci horsebit hobo!

Make sure you get bags you love, not just bags that others say are "the best". If you don't love it and use it, wait till you find another bag that calls your name.

What style Chanel and LV do you have? They certainly are both classic designers.

I agree with Cate, that Bottega Veneta's Veneta style is the iconic hobo bag.

I haven't kept up on LV styles but I really like that. LV Mono is iconic, just as a Chanel flap is. You have a great start on a bag collection that suits you.

I think classic bags don't depend on brands. Some shapes are classic and these can easily be found within most big brands. What makes them classic is their longevity, high quality craftmanship (to ensure longevity) and materials as well as colours and embellishment that aren't trendy and keep their lustre.

Famous bags that fill all these requirements:

Birkin, bolide, drag and kelly from Hermès
speedy, alma, lockit by LV

but there are tons of others.
