Hey Ladies! Something I've been chewing on over the weekend.....I'm considering selling my J12 black 33mm w/ diamond markers to get a Rolex. I will point my finger of blame at the lovely ladies of this forum for causing this thought. I have a Cartier Roadster SS/Cartier Tank F. SS/Raymond Weil Round Diamond Bezel/Diamond Markers Tango with Leather Strap. I don't know which Rolex I would be thinking of yet but I do like Momma's new Air King quite a bit. Anyway, your thoughts please! Thank you.:D

Yes, in a heartbeat. I love the J12, and it's a beautiful watch, but I don't think it can compare quality-wise with a Rolex, nor do I think it will still be in style in twenty years, whereas Rolex has proven itself as a classic. It comes down to what you love, but if it were me I would definitely go with the Rolex.

I have both and I definitely think there is room for both in a gals wardrobe. The J12 to me is virtually indestructible and not susceptible to scratches with everyday use unlike other metal watches. I know people say it's a fashion thing but the J12 was introduced over a decade ago and is still going strong. The movement was developed in partnership with Audemars Piguet another luxury swiss watch manufacturer. BTW mine is the black 38mm auto with diamond bezel and I use it everyday and it looks as good as new. My Rolex is the 35mm bi metal yachtmaster..

I have a Rolex datejust and a Cartier TF, but I must say that nothing beats the quality of a Rolex! Having said that ... I would not trade your J12 (unless you dislike it) as it's a new classic. My colleague has one and it doesn't scratch. Amazing! The J12 is still pretty when you get older.

I agree! Unless you have second thoughts about your J12 I wouldn't sell it. I adore mine and would never sell it for a rolex. While I'd love to buy a rolex someday when it fits my needs, metal watches are a dime a dozen in my book but a J12 is distinct, has personality and virtually indestructible. I'd definitely keep mine and save up for a rolex at another date.

I have both and if you say I can only keep one, then I will keep the Rolex. But really, don't sell the J12 unless you really don't like it. Try to save up and get the Rolex later, instead of selling J12 and get the Rolex now :)

From what I understand, J12 prices recently increased a lot! So I would definitely keep the J12 in case you regret selling it. It will cost a lot more than you initially paid to rebuy it. Save for the rolex even if it takes years. It'll be well worth the wait.
