I have a KS bag (and an MK one) that I'd like to sell. Since these brands aren't 'premium' enough for those consignment sites, I was thinking of selling them on ebay. But I have heard of so many horror stories and scams, for buyers and sellers, so now I'm not sure if I should take the risk? None of the pieces I'm looking to sell are very expensive, they're used so I'm thinking no more than £100.
For example, one scam against sellers that I've heard is that people can receive the goods and say that the box came empty or has just a phone book in it, so the seller must not have sent and ask ebay for a refund. I heard it happened with an apple piece that someone was selling.
Should I be worried or should I go for it?

I personally don't like selling online for the reasons mentioned above. I usually sell my bags locally using sites like Kijiji or occasionally will post them on FB but selling to friends, family and acquaintances is another issue.

Don't get me wrong, it's probably the place where your bag would sell the quickest so if you need the money I'd say go for it but be cautious. I prefer to work with buyers in-person to eliminate potential issues. Also the bags I sell are just ones I no longer use, I don't need to sell them to "fund" another bag although it makes perfect sense to get rid of what you have before purchasing more!

I have quite a few non designer bags. Any chance they would sell at all?
I sold a non-designer leather bag, £25 I think it was. The buyer had contacted me first to ask about the bag, and they came across as pretty reasonable. I did sell it and didn't have any issues. I think small amounts are ok, because even if you do meet a bad egg you don't loose too much.

I'm not aware of any sites in the UK. If anyone does, please point me in the right direction. I found a facebook group that allows members to sell each other KS bags, have you heard of it or used it?

Yeah I don't use them at all so I plan on auctioning them in case people don't find my pricing reasonable.
I always do a quick search to see what similar items have sold for in recent periods and then adjust a bit for differences in condition. Works pretty well so far, but having said that, I've only ever sold 15 things on email, clothes and shoes.

I've sold bags on eBay. Minimal problems.
If you are doing BIN or best offer, I like where it will automatically decline an offer less than a certain price
Thanks for the tip, I didn't know you could do that.
I'm still deciding what bag(s) to sell. I have very limited storage space, and I recently bought 2 new bags, so two will have to go. Decisions decisions.

I usually sell my things on an app called Poshmark. They make the sales super easy/ figure out shipping for you. The only thing is you'd only get to keep 80% of what you sell it for. But I've sold a few Kate Spades very quickly on there!

I looked at their FAQs and it said it's only in the US. I'm based in the UK so I don't think I can use it.

Edit: should have said in the original post that I'm based in the UK, oops.

Yes, I sell my bags there often. I do mostly "buy it now" and require immediate payment. Take good photos, include a good description. Research what your bag is selling for and price appropriately. Describe all flaws. 99% of the time, it goes very well for me.
