Would you rummage through trash for a Coach Gift Card?

No way. Why would you search this weeks trash for something gifted almost two months ago? If it was in the trash it's long gone. I think the company can cancel gift cards like when they are stolen. If you have proof of payment they might be able to help.

Oh, yeah. I’d look through the trash for a $250 gift card. I’ve done it for a lot less. But ... you mentioned switching the card when you switched purses. Are you absolutely sure you’ve search every single compartment of every purse/wallet you’ve used since you got the card? That’s where I usually find things like that.

That's a great point! Coach gift cards are often black and may be difficult to see inside a wallet.

I would totally have it reissued before rummaging through trash. I have rummaged through my huge to-be-shredded pile to find receipts in the past but not the garbage. But if they couldn't reissue it then I would look.

Thanks again everyone.

In the interest of due diligence, I did rummage through 2 bags of post Easter trash. And I am not good about using the sink disposal all the time....so....gross. And no luck finding the card.

So we went to the Coach store and they said they could do nothing to help reissue the card. Which is not what coach customer service told me. (The manager of this store is generally a bit of a dud.) I called customer service again and they are reissuing the card - which they could only do because my husband kept the receipt. They need the actual gift card number to reference to make sure it has been issued to the requester and to make sure it hasn't been used. Without a receipt, we would have been out of luck.

(I didn't really want to tell my husband I lost his gift but losing the chance to recoup $250 was worse)

But yay, a happy ending still.
