Would you rather buy a real LOVE BRACELET, DIAMOND-PAVED vs custom love bracelet paved?

Would you rather spend $42,000 or $15,000?

I had a conversation with a friend how people will buy a normal Cartier love bracelet from Cartier & goto a jeweler to get it custom made to look like the paved love for around $15,000 vs paying $42,000. I know that once you get it customized the warranty from Cartier is gone. It made me wonder how many custom made ones are out there & if you would do that? For me personally I wouldn’t, if I were to pay for a custom piece I would want something original & not a “knock off”. I also enjoy my classic love bracelet with no diamonds. If I were to ever buy a paved love bracelet I love the look of the small one & would save up for the authentic one. I’m curious to hear others thoughts & why you would or wouldn’t.

Well, this is certainly an odd yet interesting question! LOL - seems more like an integrity question to me.

Personally, I wouldn't custom make a pave Cartier bracelet for several reasons. First off, I would never try to pass off something "fake" as something "real" for show. This must be a very desperate person who would do that! (LOL) If I EVEN thought of doing something so CRAZY, I would certainly say it was custom made. Both scenarios are pretty pathetic in my opinion! LOL

Secondly, as you have already stated, it would certainly lose the integrity of the real item and its warranty from Cartier as it is no longer a Cartier original. This custom piece brings to mind items made by the company, MAD PARIS - they take real items and modify them (i.e. Rolex, Cartier, etc) but usually to a one of a kind item.

Lastly, it would not be a good investment overall if you ever want to go to sell the piece because essentially it is still a modified, "fake" Cartier pave bracelet with little return, and you would not get anything close to the amount you paid for the "custom" piece; whereas, with the real Cartier pave piece, you will get a better return if you sell it because it will hold its value.

Therefore, I would MOST DEFINITELY go for the REAL DEAL!

Very well said, I completely agree!!

I would actually! But not to look EXACTLY like a pave. I would probably customize it in another design that the jeweler and I came up with and buy another plain love and wear them together. One “by me” and one by the lovely people at cartier! And I wouldn’t feel any way telling people, perhaps because I’ve had mine and I love it as is but this sounds like such a fun idea!

If I were going to customize a love bracelet, I’d first stop myself from spending $6700 or whatever it’s currently going for and just get a generic gold bangle and customize THAT. It’s already not the real deal. May as well have a different piece entirely and embrace that it’s NOT the love, rather than make a love something that it’s not.

If you modify the bracelet you will lose the resale value. It will be as if it was a fake. Why not just have your local jewelry make a diamond bracelet from scratch and wear it stacked with your real love bracelet
