Would u buy a no-brand bag with leather that comes from the same tannery of Hermes?

What are the designs of these bags? Do they look like B or K just without the H stamp?

I love Chanel bags but I don't think I would like them if they would be the same but not Chanel. However, I own few non brand leather bags that I love and use as well but they look nothing like famous designers bags. :)

That's exactly what I think and I even told her that,,

She has three designs with many different colors but only one design is her own which is very nice, simple and elegant.. used same leather , all hand made ..
the price is only like 450 USD..
I have no contemplation with this bag because it's her own inspiration..

My headache is the croc skin that looks like B..:-(

My issue with Kwanpen is that they blatantly copy H bags and charge in the $10,000+ range and get away with it.

I feel the same, I would proudly wear a well made bag that has its own design and isn't made to look like another brand.
Ethan K, son of Heng Long, for example makes some STUNNING crocodile and alligator (lizard too) bags, especially his minaudiere, and they are handmade in Italy.
I'd buy one in a heartbeat, the young man knows his exotic skins and is passionate about quality and design, I'd be proud to carry it even if no one knew who he was.

I argue exactly the same with her..:
I won't have any problem if the design is original but inspired? or copy?
I am not sure if I will have nerve to carry them around..
I can walk around with eco bag that no one cares but not some exotic skin and flashy design that draw everyone's attention and turn out to be "COPY"

Her argument is Birkin's originality is legally off the hook after 15 years and that's why Kwanpen and Colombo (by the way, any one know this brand Colombo? B style and even more $$$ than Hermes) is nowadays so popular.. for Kwanpen is cheaper and easy to get and for Colombo simply because it's more expensive..

She said in a sarcastic way, " if you think Kwanpen and Colombo is also "copy", get Hermes Croc B" which I Have zero percent chance in my life time to get my hands on..

I don't think this is true.

If the bags are copies, then I believe it is unethical (whether or not it is legal). If they are making original designs and merely using the same tanneries, there is no issue. I've heard it said that Roots Canada uses (or has used) some of the same tanneries as Hermes. Roots and Hermes = Apples and Oranges, but great leather IS great leather.

When I visited the Kwanpen store in Bangkok some years ago they had no inspired bags, only the bags shown one their website. :wondering

Sadly, they make significant numbers of Ks and Bs and I wouldn't even say inspired, they are direct knockoffs IMO

If they just stuck with their own designs I wouldn't have an issue with them because their skins are beautiful.

It looks to me basically like the exact bag without the "H". Whether or not it's the same company that manufacturers the actual Hermes bag or not, it is a blatant copy and my answer is No. I would not order one. If I were buying the bag to gain the same leather used, it would have to be a completely unique bag that one can't find on anyone; a bag that you don't see coming and going, and stop the person to find out what she is wearing.

Are these recent bags or older? They could have changed inventory now, it would not be possible to sell inspired bags in the high-end shopping centers in Bangkok where they have stores. It's not allowed. (pic below from a window display in Bangkok)

If the bags are copies with fake logo..i.e counterfeit.. yes, it's unethical and embarrassing.. and usually thoese conterfeit are very cheap..

But I think many women pay a lot of money to carry Kwanpen and Colombo croc skin B or K bags simply because of no availability of real H........?

To me, it doesn't matter who does the leather and who else the supplier is in business with. If the prices are low, the leather is TDF, the designs are original, pretty and functional and the craftsmanship is up there, then I'd def go for one!

This depends on the bag you want. For me, a gorgeous bag in a gorgeous skin is fantastic AND...if I am asked who it is and the brand is a mystery to the asker...this is a HUGE PLUS. I love to have something beautiful and well-made that is not known to all, or seen everywhere. I don't need to say "Chanel" or "Hermès" or whatever. I don't need to effectively staple ten $1000 bills to my shoulder.

That said, I LOVE Hermes, it is what I collect, and I would not buy something that is a "close relative" of an H design. If I want to carry a Birkin, I do. If I just love a bag from an unknown name - just as good. One is NOT better than the other, but a copy even sans brand? Different story. I celebrate all originality but do not want a fake.

I would buy if it's not a copycat design.
There a lot of artisans in France and Japan with original designs and great quality materials.
You would be surprised.

As I don't have any of their bags I can't comment on the quality, but just because a bags leather comes from the same tannery does not mean the quality will be the same. There are different grades of leather at tanneries as some can have more imperfections, or it could have been a lower grade raw hide etc.

If you love the bags and have seen in person, I see nothing wrong with owning one. Hope that helps :)
