Hi all..
I'm new here and not sure i can ask this question here..
If not i will remove it..

Normally I am a Chanel girl, and it's because I could not get any Hermes bag that I like in my area..

Recently this lady launched new hand bag lines on her blog that she swears are the same German Shrunken calf leather from the same tannery who supplies leather to Hermes.
and they are the fraction of the price and even in my eyes, the leather looks soo beautiful.. She also launched this beautiful croc skin bags that she said is from Heng Long tannery which is 51% owned by LVMH.. and the bag comes with a certificate issued by Heng Long tannery.. also so very reasonably priced and beautiful..

According to the many reviews on her blog, everyone who bought the bags were so surprised by it's quality and fine craftmanship when they actually received the bag and most of them are ordering more..

1;1 order made only so I have to wait for 3 months after full payment.. which I just made this morning..

I am 44 years old, and i've been a brand *****..
but I could not help.. I've had to feel the bags for myself..

I have no doubt about the quality of the bags, but my predicament is..
will I really carry them proudly without well -known logo, when every one admires my bag and eventually ask me what brand it is???

Any opinion will be appreciated..

TIA

Only you can really answer that....

I personally do not care for LVMH at all, and whilst Heng Long has some beautiful skins, I would not personally support Kwanpen. But that's my personal choice and both companies have their masses of devotees.

If the quality of the skin is superseded by your need for it to be a brand, as in, if somebody asks you about it and your enjoyment of the bag is diminished because it is not of a brand you (or more importantly in this discussion, as you said it is your predicament- they) hold in high regard then it might not be the route for you to take.
However, if you can just enjoy it as a quality skin bag made by an independant source that you got for a reasonable price then by all means - enjoy!

Do what makes YOU happy, you know you better than anyone...

What are the designs of these bags? Do they look like B or K just without the H stamp?

I love Chanel bags but I don't think I would like them if they would be the same but not Chanel. However, I own few non brand leather bags that I love and use as well but they look nothing like famous designers bags. :)

I would hesitate to wear bags that are heavily influenced by, copies really, of a known design by a familiar brand – even if the quality was excellent.

But a well-made high quality bag in a traditional or original design? No problem!

My issue with Kwanpen is that they blatantly copy H bags and charge in the $10,000+ range and get away with it.

I feel the same, I would proudly wear a well made bag that has its own design and isn't made to look like another brand.
Ethan K, son of Heng Long, for example makes some STUNNING crocodile and alligator (lizard too) bags, especially his minaudiere, and they are handmade in Italy.
I'd buy one in a heartbeat, the young man knows his exotic skins and is passionate about quality and design, I'd be proud to carry it even if no one knew who he was.

I personally against all 'inspired' looks of any kind but I love when a new company tries to get inspiration on 'quality' from other brands. It is important to always have a leader (Hermes IMO) in the industry so we don't get washed away by the cheaply production product and they charge us premium for it.

Yes you are soooo right,,

Only I can answer that..and Only after I actually have the bags..

Now I want the bags and paid for them..

I'll have to wait for 3 months for the answer from me..lol

Thanks for your precious opinion:-)

to me its more a question of the way its made !!!!!
The quality of the leather and the craftmanship of the bags are impeccable you won't believe the price,,
We all wonder how the hack she does that..

I am thinking maybe it's her business plan or ulterior motive..
Lose money now and increase the price later like crazy later when the brand becomes popular..
is maybe her ambition..
