I love this bag so much, but I'm afraid it would show water marks or dirt and stains. Does anyone know how you would keep a bag this color clean. I think it's amazing, but to spend $428....I have to be sure. I am so hard on my bags, I would think it would look terrible after a week.

Please help!

This is my Michael Kors bag which is similar in color. Although I'm really careful with my bags, I have carried this probably more than any other bag I own and it's still in pristine condition. Prior to using it the first time, I treated it with 3 coats of Apple Rain and Stain Repellent. If you pre-treat your bag, you might worry less about getting it soiled. BTW...that is a gorgeous bag you're considering!

OMG! I was just thinking, maybe to get the Astor in black. The other bag is super soft leather and I'm so afraid of water marks.

I love the hobo one of the one you have. With the little dots going up the handle.

Do you get compliments on it?

Yes!!! Tons of compliments everywhere I go! I would love to have this bag in black and probably would buy it if I could find it at a great price!

i was going to buy that bag...when i saw it irl i wasn't as impressed as i was with it on the website...i'm sorry...i don't want to offend..it is a gorgeous bag and i LOVE drawstrings...but in person, i didn't think it was worth the 428...

Here are some pictures of my wonderful trustworthy tried-and-true Michael by Michael Kors Astor in the luggage leather. I have had this bag for about 4 or 5 years and I take it out when the weather isn't so great, like with a chance of rain. I don't knock it around, as I baby my bags when I'm carrying them. This bag has not been treated with any sort of protectant either. The variations in color just are dappled sunlight in these pictures, but this will give you the idea of how durable this leather is. You can protect it or not, but I wouldn't worry about not being able to wear it for very long without getting it all marred up. It's a good workable leather.

That is incredible. I think the bag I wanted has a different kind of leather, but showing me that, I rethinking getting the Astor one instead.

Thanks for your advice!

Which do you like better?

Well, your choices are really great. If I were standing next to you contemplating a new bag purchase, I'd go with the Cole Haan because I just love the looks of that bag. I'd also have to think really long and hard about that third MK bag, because the choice would be really difficult. I guess I would go with either of those two and give you a big hug when you make your choice!!

save: Didn't you get the first one (Desert in Walnut) and then return it because of guilt? Are you considering going back to buy it again? I'm a bit confused between what you posted here and the other thread. I think you should get the one you like better. What others like or don't like will make little difference because it's you who would own it and carry it.
