Would it be rude to ask a buyer to confirm their address before shipping?

Ok you guys are going to think I'm insane..... but if I have a 0 FB bidder, I will request info on them and yes go as far as to google their phone number to see if it's legit!

That's not so crazy, don't worry Especially if it's an expensive item, I'd rather play detective than later have to hire one to collect my money.

ok so I have been on ebay for 7-8 yrs and about two months ago my paypal home address became unconfirmed randomly and paypal won't do anything to correct it, as they say sellers have protection just to ship to the address that is listed, it doesn't need to be confirmed.

On a related note I logged in after I sent the bag and my address is suddenly and mysteriously unconfirmed as well, so apparently I wasn't anyone to complain about this lol
