Would it be rude to ask a buyer to confirm their address before shipping?

Or if paypal says (btw, is paypal not loading for anyone else?) it's fine to ship, just go ahead? I suppose I'm being too cautious but they only have seven feedback for small items, and since they're in the states, they should be able to confirm it. Does it really even matter if it's unconfirmed so long as it's sent to what's on file with paypal/ebay and I use tracking?

If you ship to the address provided by PayPal and it assures seller protection (it should say so on the page), you can go right ahead. If you want to be extra careful, you can ask your buyer to confirm their address, but it's not necessary. It's also not necessary to have a PayPal-confirmed address to be under seller protection; it's basically your call.

Not all addresses can be confirmed; it depends on the country where the buyer is located. If Seller Protection is available where you have your account, you need to ship the item to the address PayPal shows in the Transaction Details Page.

OK, here's my 2 cents' worth. I always confirm shipping address and PP address are the same with the buyer before shipping. Why? I had haunted UGG boots that I shipped to one buyer without checking and he had not updated his address on PP since moving a week earlier. It took 7 weeks for the boots to be returned. I re-listed them and the buyer of the boots confirmed his address and I shipped them. 5 minutes (quite literally, 5 minutes) after I got back from the P.O. the buyer e-mailed me telling me that he was moving in the next few days and gave me a new address "if it's not too late". I drove to the P.O. and they gave back the parcel (I know these people and they know me well) and I held on to it until the buyer updated his address later that day. Very annoying, but I was determined to get these haunted boots out of my house! It saves a lot of anxiety if you send an e-mail saying "I see your address is xxxxxxxx, could you please confirm?"

Ok you guys are going to think I'm insane..... but if I have a 0 FB bidder, I will request info on them and yes go as far as to google their phone number to see if it's legit!

Crazy I know...... and if I can't find anything on that person, I cancel the bid, I don't want the drama.

So to answer your question.... nope not rude at all!!

ok so I have been on ebay for 7-8 yrs and about two months ago my paypal home address became unconfirmed randomly and paypal won't do anything to correct it, as they say sellers have protection just to ship to the address that is listed, it doesn't need to be confirmed.

So just a heads up that not everyone is able to confirm address or strangely in my case keep it confirmed.

In your case I would just double chcek the address is correct and if so I would think it's o.k.
I only would only be worried if the person had zero feedback or the address was in a different country they would be red flags for me:)

Good luck with your sale

Nope; I sold two time sensitive items a while ago, and the buyer with around 9 feedbacks said he never received it. Lo and behold-it was returned to my mailbox saying that the address could not be delivered, and here I had it copied out exactly as what the buyer wrote. Never hurts to double check!
