Worth The Money??

Hi and thanks for your response. The bag is gorgeous and I paid $300 less than it goes for, but still in the back of my mind, I'm like "what did you do?" LOL
I think lots of us have this feeling, £1000 is a lot of money and, unless you’re very rich, it’s normal to do a bit of thinking at spending that amount on a trinket. I‘m mostly comfortable with my spending, but still wouldn't tell my dad how much a bag cost, even though they’re bought and paid for with my own money (I’m 45!).

I’m grappling with “worth it” too. There is a stunning emerald green ostrich Bayswater that’s been for sale for a long time but it’s over $5,000. Isn’t that about half of what a entry-level pre-owned Birkin would cost?

Ostrich mulbs have always been super high priced compared to the main range, but £5k is probably twice what it cost new and like you say you could go to Hermes/Chanel with that kind of money.

I would expect a preloved ostrich bays in good condition to be around the £1k-£1.5k mark & think this seller is maybe being a little optimistic with the asking price.

Yes, that’s the going rate in the UK. However, I think there may be a customs issue with an ostrich bag coming into the US. So I’d prefer to buy within the US and the prices are somewhat higher. Anyway more to think about and not an urgent issue

We’re back to ‘is it worth it to you?’

To echo 24shaz, if you (generalisation) want something that’s rare, no longer available or unlikely to be again in the future then it’s kind of priceless and is worth whatever you want to pay for it.

I am pretty certain that Bayswater has been for sale for quite along time so I don’t think you need to make a speedy decision. It’s a personal preference that I don’t like exotics but the colour is absolutely gorgeous
