I am thinking of return rtw (jacket) that I bought last week and get store credit and when I see something else I like better I can get it. This cashmere jacket looks ok on me but I think it will be sitting in my closet and not much wearing. However, i m afraid my sa will mad. I am not sure what to say to him and I am sure he will be not happy, because I know how he is…
Has anyone done this?
Any thoughts?
Thanks

This is going to be an unpopular answer but, yes, your SA and the store will both be unhappy with the return of an RTW item and it will likely hurt your profile and offers in the short term. Is this the coat you bought at first meeting with your SA or did you go back and buy a second coat after already seemingly regretting the first purchase? Either way, I’d advise you to be much more considerate with your purchases going forward. It seems to me as though you are getting way too caught up in “playing the game“, which ironically is causing you to make fatal errors in said game, rather than just relaxing and shopping. It’s unreasonable to expect bag offers within just a month or two of starting your profile so I suggest you relax and learn to take things more slowly and only buy things you genuinely love, not just what your SA tries to push upon you.

I have returned RTW but only an item that my SA ordered for me that we agreed didn’t fit me when it arrived given the variable sizing. If it was something you tried on in store with your SA, I’d agree with @acrowcounted that your return may hurt your profile.
I have since decided only to buy RTW that I can actually try on…H sizing is too variable and if I order something it almost certainly will not fit.

I have never returned RTW for the simple reason that I tend to take my time and consider my purchases very carefully. I often walk away from a piece if I am not absolutely certain of it. Since the pandemic, and the difficulty obtaining smaller sizes, it. sometimes means I miss out on a piece I may have come back hoping to find. I am ok with that because I hate to make returns or bring anything home I am not certain about. Generally speaking, SA's aren't too happy taking returns so I understand your concerns. May I ask you what attracted you to the jacket to begin with that you are having second thoughts on? How long have you been with your SA? If you have a long standing history, your relationship will bounce back, but it will sting initially. In any long term relationship, there are always a few bumps in the road. I encourage you to be patient with yourself and the shopping process. Try to avoid repeated returns if possible. Good luck whatever you decide to do!

I didn’t think of speeding up to get the bag or anything. When I am at store I cant control myself of buying things. But why it will hurt my profile though, the money will eventually go back to store right and my sa still get commission too.

If you are within the return window just return it. Don’t overthink it!
I just bought it last Friday and tomorrow will be a week. I tried to style it which what I have in my closet but it didn’t look very good on me. I don’t think I will not wear this jacket more often. I know I hate to return anything not just Hermes. I am not rushing to get a bag.

Return the coat if you won't use it and work on your impulse control. Repeated returns will hurt your relationship at your boutique.

If you return it, you get a store credit, don’t you? Not a refund I think? So they already have the money…
This is why I prefer buying online for items I am unsure of. Online does free returns and you get the money back.
I have had doubts too on my purchases sometimes but mostly because I worry about getting them dirty or damaged when I am with my kids. I don’t wear my nice stuff enough! Hopefully my kids stop rubbing their dirty hands everywhere soon!
If you don’t love your purchases, don’t keep them. They are too expensive for that.

As a customer, how would you feel if you thought that items you bought had been sold previously, been taken away from the store for some days, subsequently returned and then sold to you?

If, as an SA, you had a client who you associated with buying items and then returning them,
wouldn't that make you wonder if any sale to that client would end up being returned?

Can you not see why that would compromise your association with any SA.
Stores do not want to have returned goods to go back into stock to be sold.
Nor can all returned goods be automatically assigned to a sale rack.

Distance shopping is different.

I am not too sure but i am ok to get store credit because I am very sure I will get something else soon. But if I see something else I may exchange it instead.

Good idea! I will start buying stuffs on line instead. I don’t have to go through hassle when I return it.
