I think they are where Coach was a few years ago. Saturated the market with less than quality (but still not cheap) bags and there is no longer a draw to carry MK. The also draw liberally from other design house’ designs (and not well).
I love my watch to pieces but it has been a long time since I purchased a bag. The quality leather items they used to sell seem to be in short supply.
Even their shoes - I went to purchase a pair not that long ago and the material indicator was weird. Turns out it was saying that the top was leather, sides and bottom manufactured. When you look closely there was a tiny thin strap of leather along the very top attached to thicker pieces that went along the sides. Those were plastic. Such junk. Such short cuts. And not cheap. I find they have been pulling that more and more over the last few years and I now won’t even go into a store.
I agree. I think the market for MK is saturated, and the blatant copying of other designers is annoying, especially with his Louis Vuitton-inspired bags. I have seen a few styles lately that seem to have a bit more creativity, but do not ask me the names of them. I got turned off because I do not like bags that have large gold chains, and he cannot seem to get away from that or that large gold medallion that on some bags cannot be removed, LOL. I think MK does the luggage color the best of anyone, but I can't get past the other bling. A lot of his bags are also in the Saffiano or whatever the leather is that he uses, and they are too stiff for me.
Interesting! Thank you for sharing. That's too bad. I don't know too much about Michael Kors' products but I know they're big in that Saffiano Leather.
They copy other designers styles? I didn't know that.
I admit the several wallets of MK I have, I do like! I'm finding all of this interesting. Did you ever have any of their handbags/slgs and do you still own them?

That is true. I think it has to at least be 5% leather for them to call it leather. The other 95% can be plastic and manmade materials. I once bought a bag (not MK) that said it was leather. When it arrived in the mail the entire bag was plastic except the charm that it came with was suede and they called it leather. Saffiano leather is PVC and leather, that is why it wipes off so easily. I knew a lady who took her MK bag to the leather repair shop and the guy told her that the bag was plastic and he couldn't do anything about it.If Kors have two inches of leather anywhere on a kors product they will call it leather. If it looks like leather kors will say its pleather is leather. Purchased shoes that were not a matching pair, the left shoe top was full of glitter and the right had missing glitter all around the bottom where it met the out sole. No quality control and kors does not want its messy products back either. Same shoe in the same size and each will fit differently. I am done with kors period.
