Why doesn't the hangtag say "coach"?

I have a croc-embossed Madison Lindsey, and one of the tags is in the croc-embossed leather. It still has the logo on it.

Well, that shoots down my theory. :p

Perhaps Coach was trying to distance itself from--itself?

:roflmfao:

The real reason is probably something goofy, like they just plain old forgot to emboss some of them and once they got out, it was an "oh, yeah... we MEANT to do that" situation.

I received my new Rhyder Crossbody today and it has two hangtags. One is embossed with Coach and the other is blank.

I like the idea of having it monogrammed. Do you think if I took it into the Coach store they would do that for me?

I think the bags have become harder to authenticate now with things like the hangtags and the missing creeds or odd creeds. I liked how you could look at the creed number and tell what year the bag was made and the style number and whether factory, pilot bag etc

Some of the boutique stores are set up to do monogramming and some are not. I would call first to check.

I liked the old creed system much better. It gave a lot of information about the bag and helped a lot with authentication.

I think they are saying it doesn't need to say Coach in order for you to recognize it. The shape of the hangtag has become an icon by itself. They made a few bags last year without hangtags and I think customers complained. I remember looking at every Ranger at the outlet, trying to find one with a hangtag.

I think that you are correct, but I agree with the statement that it looks like a mistake or someone forgot to finish the details. I just find it a little odd, but I love my new bag!

This may be old news but it was a surprise to me. When I bought my new workwear rhyder 33 bag at the outlet, I noticed that it had 2 hangtags but both were completely blank. I asked the store manager about it and she said "That's because they don't need to spell it out! The leather, the style, the turnlocks, everything about this bag says that it is a coach bag."

What a crock. Just one more "cheap" detail if you ask me.

Glad you love your new bag, Kate. It's gorgeous.

Me too. In fact, it bothered me a bit when I bought other brands and had no clue what they were made of or when they were made. Most bags will say where they were made but nothing else. My Henri Bendels are made of nappa lamb but I'd feel better if it actually said that somewhere, like it does on my nappa lamb Coach bag.

On a positive note, the recent accessories I've gotten have complete creed numbers on a tag inside. Older accessories have nothing but the "made in.." tag usually.

We never use hangtags to authenticate since they are removable. I've bought authentic bags with fake hangtags.

I didn't find a hangtag on my new ace satchel. It looked like it was factory wrapped when I opened it. The leather keyring hanging from the handle says Coach on it - maybe that is supposed to be the hangtag.

I don't remember if one came on the red liv crossbody either. I don't see one in the dd pic except for a tiny metal one on the tassel, and I don't have a red tag in my hangtag collection.

Maybe they are getting more creative by offering diverse versions of the hangtags? :shrugs:

I just bought a nomad hobo from the coach boutique this past weekend. The hang tag is metal with coach engraved on it. The rings that attach the handles are also engraved with coach. High level of detailing on the nomad. ImageUploadedByPurseForum1443587876.652247.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1443587894.586931.jpg
