Chanel is also old 113 years, and they still have the same logo. Having different logos confuses ppl IMO, unless you're in the know. It's quite common with Brands as old, and Gucci is 102. Usually it was due to a fashion change or expansion strategy.
Reissuing from the different decades means that we are seeing these logos that fell out of use along side each other.
I would give you the low-down, year by year, It's actually a complicated history, with many logos being used at the same time on different products. Unfortunately, in the past, information I've given away freely to members here, but after much hard work going through out of print books, bought auction catalogues, original packaging etc for research, has jut been lifted and used on the Net without any credit to tPF, let alone me.
They're just for different luxury items, but not cheaper.Hmm. Good question. I guess they feel big enough to be able carry them all. Are the different logos associated with subcategories in their lines? Like one is more high-end, one less so?

I guess Gucci wants to keep things fresh, whereas Chanel wants to keep things old cos it's gold.Chanel has a very linear history, and it's still a private company, Gucci and others have not and are not.
Thanks for the info. That makes sense and I would also comment that the ones cited are consistent with each other in “vibe.”It's quite common with Brands as old, and Gucci is 102. Usually it was due to a fashion change or expansion strategy.

What LV logos are you referring to? Isn't it a monogram? Thanks for the info. That makes sense and I would also comment that the ones cited are consistent with each other in “vibe.”
Also compared to LV’s usage of their various logo versions, Gucci is closer to Chanel’s single IMO. (One LV in particular always reminds me of a bad 1970’s pro sports team. Not a good association. )
Any of the bags with a logo hardware closure or accent. What LV logos are you referring to? Isn't it a monogram?
I don’t know but perhaps that’s why a lot of their designs are not considered classic.

I guess I just see Gucci as constantly churning out trendy styles. When a house doesn’t stick to one logo, it just seems all over the place. Just a matter of opinion. You mean like:
The Jackie 1961?
The Bamboo TH 1947?
The Diana (1990s)?
The Gucci Bamboo backpack?
The Half-moon hobo?
The Gucci sig print?
The horse-bit loafer?
Gucci has some of the best and most classic and beloved designs in leather-goods and I'm including Hermes.
