Chanel has the Coco Handle and LV has the Croisette and One-handle Bag, those are just 2 that come immediately to mind. i actually collect kelly/top-handles b/c they are a more vintage look. they are considered old-fashioned and ladylike, and many of the vintage ones are quite small b/c women carried significantly less in the 50s and early 60s when these were hugely popular. they were typically paired with gloves and pillbox hats and carried to work at an office or out for a date. bag styles kind of correspond to women as a whole, right? now that women work and have more stuff to do and carry they can't really be out with these tiny handheld bags... for efficiency and ease of lifestyle the crossbody has become the main, followed by totes. the handheld kelly's represent something old-fashioned and lots of modern women don't want to look 'old,' so they avoid these styles, as do many designers. it's a classic style though and it'll always be around in some form.
