I have been a handbag junkie my entire life. I remember being a little girl and my favorite time of year was Easter because I always got a new purse and glove set for my Easter dress (anybody else remember these little sets from Kmart?). I got my first job at 15. I saved to buy my first "designer" bag, Liz Claiborne. I dreamed of
Coach bags, but they were out of reach for me then but I swore I'd have one some day. In college, I discovered a Coach outlet store on my drive back to my hometown. It was heaven (although 6 hours away)! I splurged and purchased my first work tote/briefcase (black Mercer business tote - I still have it). I bought (and resold) many bags along the way. I remember (and still have) my very first full price Coach store purchase - a Hamptons Pool Blue Hobo. I bought the matching wristlet and butterfly fob. The Lucky Style Guide came out that year, and my bag was on the cover (so I bought that, too).
Over the years, I've dabbled in other bag brands - Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs,
Gucci, LV, Chanel, etc... But I always come back to Coach. The leather is beautiful, and in my experience, I've found it to be more durable than many of the higher end brands I've tried. Coach bags I've had for years (or I bought 2nd hand and restored) are still beautiful and perfectly wearable all these years later.
So, that's my Coach story. I'm happy to report that I have 2 Coach outlets within an hour of me now, although my budget would argue that might not be the best thing!
