Cole Haan makes great affordable leather bags...very supple too.

Girl, don't worry about folks that diss MK. He makes a great quality bag with good leather and some nice colors. Go with the Selma in my opinion. Sutton is nice but sometimes it packs funny for my taste.

Fossil is another brand that has decent prices during sales. IMO I still think Dooney makes great quality bags for that $300 price range.

Thanks, guys. I like fossil, but only the discontinued things! If I could find a nwt Maddox satchel... Ooh boy.

Same for dooney. Right now my everyday bag is a dooney Florentine satchel. I love it, but want something different. If I could find a perfect flap tab satchel, especially a green one, that'd be it.

I have this tendency to want only the discontinued stuff.

I would suggest this nice Italian satchel. It is without shoulder strap, but I find it very elegant and particular.
