I was reading all through the style icons...and they are all elegant and beautiful women...with amazing style! Most of them singers or actresses!

I AM in love the SOCIALITES style though...Is anyone else dying for their wardrobes and BAGS? and jewels...and style in general?

Who is your fav socialite?

SO many of them have such great style...
Olivia Chantecaille (Head of Chantecaille Beaute too)
Lisa Airan (dermatologist too)
Marisa Noel Brown
Aerin Lauder (beauty mogul too)
Tory Burch (designer too )
Meredith Melling Burke
Georgina Chapman (designer too:heart:)
Marina Rust Conner
Plum Sykes (editor/writer too)
Lucy Sykes
Amanda Hearst
Sally Albemarle (Sculptor&mother too )
Fabiola Berasco
Eleanor Ylvisaker

I love them all...but I'm just going to post a pic of Tinsley for now and call her my favorite...for so many reasons!

Love her! She looks so cute all the time!

Pardon my ignorance, but how is Gloria Chapman a socialite? All I know about her is her husband and Marchesa.

Excellent question & point...what does make someone a socialite? I think the socialite girls today are also changing the definition, because a lot of them have other great careers too...but...

From Wikipedia: A socialite is a person (male or female, but more often used for a woman) of social prominence who spends significant resources entertaining and being entertained but is not (at least in the early 20th century heyday of socialites) a professional entertainer.

As far as the lovely Georgina Chapman goes…she definitely is an heiress in her own right, daughter of the millionaire Percol organic ooffee company founder, Brian Chapman…not just a wealthy wifey to H.W... And yes, of course she is a fab designer, as we all know. She was a socialite and deb before she was any of that though…

Georgina & Keren Craig started Marchesa, but also, a side note, interestingly enough, named the brand after socialite Marchesa Luisa Casati…the word “Marchesa” as a European title of nobility…

I know this is in the celebrity style subforum, but I just don't think having a lot of money and holding/attending parties makes you a celebrity.

Honestly, if not for Paris Hilton and the Harper's Bazaar articles, I wouldn't know the names or faces of any of these people. They just aren't that important.

Sorry. I know everyone else in this thread cares.

I nominate Megs as my favorite socialite. She and Vlad do run an entire fashion related social networking site after all. I think she counts. Plus she has a Birkin--what more do you need to qualify? j/k!

Wow! She's rich from all angles! Reminds me of Jimmy Choo head honcho Tamara Mellon...born rich, divorced rich, and rich in her own right! Thanks for clearing it up!
