I did a search and turned up lots of threads on this topic, but all in the specific designer subforums. I was wondering generally, regardless of which brand you fancy, how many of us have bought one or more of the exact same bag in different colors?

I don't . . . yet . . . but I have the Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir in tan, and I'm contemplating buying black as well. I know that a lot of ladies bought the rainbow of that particular style, and I've seen epic collections of Balenciaga City bags and Marc Jacobs Stam bags in multiple colors too.

So let's hear (and even better, see pics) - which styles have inspired you to go for multiples?

*pops popcorn*

Summerfriend, Lonchamp is one of those brands where it seems easy to get the same style in different colors. I have LP Cuir's in both pebble gray and black, and the nylon totes in multiples. For higher end bags, I have Hermes Garden Party totes in Gold (for spring/summer) and Rouge H (fall/winter). I use those bags so much, it made sense to get different colors for different seasons. But for the most part, if I duplicate a style, I'll try to get both a different color and a different size for variety.

Ah yes! I almost forgot that I'm also planning to get another one of my most-used tote - the LV Neverfull - in DE for winter (as I already have the DA). Some styles are just SO USEFUL it doesn't make sense to try to scout out a whole different bag just because you need another color in your wardrobe!

I definitely agree about Longchamp. SO easy and useful, and so many colors to choose from. I actually intended to get only the black Cuir, but the tan was so lovely that I couldn't say no! And now I find that I still do actually need the black. LOL.

OMG! Yes! I do! If I love a bag, why not! It saves me from trying to find the "perfect" bag all over again when I need a bag in another color. I'm traveling now but can share pics later.

I have:
  • Miss Dior - Hot Pink Lamb & Cobalt Blue Lamb
  • Chanel Classic Single Flap - Jumbos: Red Caviar, Black Patent & Ivory Calfskin, Medium: Pearlized Gray Lamb
  • Prada Double Zip Tote - Mini Tamaris (Pink) and Small Red (Fuoco)
  • Proenza Schouler Small Courier - Black Calfskin and Silver Calfskin

Ok, I just legitimately drooled. I can't wait to see a picture when you're able! Happy travels, in the meantime.

Initially I thought I only have one bag where I have done this...but then I realised omg, I'm a serial offender! I suppose it makes sense in a way. I'm a big believer in buying multiples if you find blouses or jeans or a pair of shoes that really suit you, so really, how much of a leap is it to do the same thing with bags?

I will post pics, but just as a summary:
- Hermes Birkin 35: Black and Blue Jean
- LV Soft Lockit PM: Magnolia and Galet
- LV SC Clutch: Cherry and Cobalt
- Chloe Paraty: Black and Ivory/Cream
- Tom Ford YSL satin Cigarette case: black and white
- Chanel M/L classic flap: black caviar, beige clair caviar and plum lambskin (eeeeek!)

There are no words for me, truly...:giggle:

I have a number of Longchamp Le Pliage nylon totes, all in the large size, but I barely count these as "bags" since I keep them in the trunk of my car and use them when I go into stores. Where I live, the stores charge if they give you a shopping bag for your merchandise, so I never go into a store without 1 or 2 LPs folded up and hung over my shoulder.

As for "actual" bags, I don't normally buy multiples. But a few years ago I bought the Marc Jacobs Mini 54 bag in Flame Red. I loved it so much that when the same bag popped up in Emerald on a flash sale, I snagged it for half price! I've never regretted my decision.

Here are my "twins":

I always have one or two envirosax bags in my purse for the same reason. Very light and easy to carry in my bag.

Really, that makes a lot of sense, Bitten! I definitely buy multiples of underwear, jeans, tees, shoes, v-neck cashmere sweaters, and so on. Things like that are hard to find in the perfect size and style, so when I find a "good" one I either buy it in quantity (like white tees), or in a variety of colors (like AGL flats, of which I have an embarrassing number ).
You say there are no words for you? Sure there are! The words are "savvy shopper!" :flowers:

LOL!! What a fabulous collection!

@ElainePG what gorgeous fraternal twins you have there! I'm about to have twin Marc Jacobs wallets - I've used the zip clutch in nude for like 15 years, and it's so beat up and ratty that I hunted down another one in cinnamon that was new with tags. I'll probably get rid of the nude color when the new one arrives, but you never know.
