I have the Graceful PM in DE and Odeon Tote in PM. Love both bags for everyday and I think they are very beautiful in that print.
It’s almost 3 months since the Odeon Tote PM was launch in January this year. I find myself keep thinking about getting it from time to time. I would like to find out from you how you find the bag when using it -

1) does it gets too heavy and bulky over time when you carry for prolong period, eg, on public transport?

2) any small quirks might not sit so well but still bearable?

3) any signs of wear on the bag, canvas, trims or hardware?

4) any really good points that people tend to miss?

I actually already own 2 DE bags - 1 Iena MM (discontinued, looks similar to a neverful but has a zip closure) and a speedy B 25. My 5 year old Speedy B 25 is showing signs of wear on the hardware (tarnished on zipper pulls and D-rings) and I stained the textile lining with a pen. But other than that, everything else looks good. The Odeon Tote PM is quite close in terms of size with speedy 25. That’s why I haven’t purchase it yet. I love DE for its carefree-ness!! I get a little paranoid with Vachetta trims.

DE was my first love - I’ve got a Bond Street BB, Speedy 25, Neverfull PM. Had a Neverfull MM in DE but sold it and got a Neverfull MM in empreinte instead. The DE is just not as flexible as the empreinte and I wanted a slouchier large tote. It’s perfect for me in the PM size though!

The bag itself is very lightweight which was a surprise to me. Even fully packed it’s still not heavy. The Canvas is a bit more smooth than on my other canvas bags but I think it helps that the bag keeps it’s shape. And this is what I like, I can stuff it and it holds the shape with the pleat. The opening is wide and I can get things in and out easily. The inside is dark and I don‘t use an insert.
The strap that it comes with is fine with thin jackets or just shirts but in winter it was a bit too short when wearing with a thick coat. I used the black strap from my PM empreinte and it was great. I am 5.4.
Since I‘m using it since January there isn‘t any wear yet but I‘m sure it will get scratches on the hardware but that is totally fine.
For me the Odeon tote PM is a great bag, looks beautiful and is carefree and holds everything I need.

I have one DE bag—the discontinued Siena PM. It’s the most functional bag I’ve ever had—nice wide opening, fits a ton, had internal pockets for organization. While my preference for SLGs is mono, I prefer DE for bags. Side by side with mono, DE is just a little less busy of a pattern and I find it doesn’t compete with my clothes as much.

I actually just recently purchase Odeon PM (the crossbody, not the tote) in mono after seeing so many raves since it’s release. Like you, I was intrigued by the wide leather strap and the outside pocket. I immediately returned it. I found the opening way too narrow and difficult to get in and out of (I realize many might disagree with this, but the difference is huge compared to my Siena), and the shape is just a bit too boho and casual for me (despite me being a very casual person!), and the vertical slim orientation made it difficult to fit a lot and my things felt too smushed against each other inside.

Give the Odeon a try if you can’t get it out of your head, but I much prefer your speedy personally.

I have a DE alma bb DE Croisette and a keepall 55 and a favorite, I’m not a huge fan of DE, I had a speedy B35 but sold that a long time ago, I prefer monogram to DE.
The great thing about DE is it’s hard wearing and rain proof
Very true about rain. I previously had an illovo mm in de but ended up selling it to FF after about 12 Years of use because the pointed bottom corners of the canvas wore. I replaced that bag with the speedy b 25 which I love.

Damier ebene is such a great print. Many years ago I bought the big shoulder/tote bag called the Parioli. Still looks almost new. Recently added the odeon tote pm. In between I have added a myriad of slgs in the same print. Great alternative to the traditional monogram. The regular odeon crossbody pm is also on my wishlist.

I have a Siena PM, Favorite MM and NF PM. All three are used for different occasions based on how much stuff I need to bring with me and what I'm doing. I prefer carefree bags so DE is usually my choice. But I'm not sure if I would add another DE in my collection.

 I prefer DE for bags and mono for SLGs too.
