Actually you get a better idea of the true colour in this shot. Pleased I got her home safe all the way from NYC to London!

That's funny! I rode a plane from Denver back home with a violet hamilton in my lap in a huge MK bag!! They were sold out in my state. My hubby thought it was hilarious, I have seen what they do to our luggage. No thanks!!

If selma's in that color are available from the store he purchased it from, just exchange it and let him know why. Men are pretty easy about that stuff because they know they are taking a chance shopping for us ladies anyway. I buy my own handbags because my hubby does not always get it right, but he knows I appreciate the gesture to the fullest. And make sure you show him what you got, use it often so he knows you love it whether it's the original or not. Good luck.
He ordered it from the MK website and idk if i'd be able to exchange it in store for something else. When I pulled the bag out of the box I noticed the receipt at the bottom but he immediately ran over to my desk and was like that's not supposed to be in there. I really don't want to hurt his feelings and am afraid that if I exchange it he will NEVER buy me anything again.

Call around and see what they say about exchanging it. You might just have to suck it up and use it and never mention a handbag again.

Does the preloved black quilted Miranda tote that I bought for myself before Christmas count? I used her recently on a holiday weekend trip, and she held up well. Love this tote!

So pretty, I love miranda bags! Quilting is something else, isn't it? Makes that style pop!
The quilting is amazing. It's the reason I love this tote. I'm always looking for something out of the ordinary or unusual when I buy handbags, whether it's quilting; colorblocking; a unique shape, texture, or color; or "blingy" hardware. This one fits the bill!

Gorgeous bag! Congrats! :smile1:

Lol I was just the same yesterday Baglady 3375, I know just what you mean. Good thing I kept hold of the merchandise as our suitcase had been ripped by baggage handlers when we got it back at Heathrow!

Check out YouTube videos on baggage handlers, it's appalling......UPS and FedEx is even worse. My orange suitcase had a million scuffs and scratches on it. A huge gouge in the material too. I watched a handler THROW a baby car seat and stroller down a ramp. I'm sure the stroller was broken when they got it back. Just do not care.

Let us know how those straps hold up. I have been noticing many listings on eBay selling used Michael Kors bags, and any damage is usually on the straps. I have even bought a couple and returned them because of strap issues. It's becoming a bit of a concern. Has anyone else noticed this? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MK, but this strap thing has gotten my attention.

I've seen fraying on some of the straps but I haven't experienced that with my bags so far. I probably haven't had any of them long enough though. Time will tell!

Yes, that fraying is usually on the braided straps and is actually normal. It is easily corrected by just taking a lighter and singeing off the frays. I am seeing where the straps are actually separating from the bag itself. Is a bit worrisome. You don't see that hardly ever on Coach bags,I haven't had it happen yet either on any of my MK bags, but did have to send a couple back because of it. Yes, time will tell.
