White gold Love bracelet wear and rhodium

I had wg love with 4 diamonds and sold it without regrets. My main cons for wg, it gets really quickly scratched, becomes dull, not shiny (in comparison with the yg of the same age which is even scratched shines like crazy),
plus gets slightly darker. Another big minus, when it gets rhodium plated indeed a thing layer of gold is taken off, later I could see the difference in comparison with my other love, it became slightly thinner. Another huge minus personally for me, after the rhodium plating service at Cartier the edges of mine became visibly round even I was specially asking them to keep bracelet in the original shape! but apparently it’s not possible.
I think it’s a personal preference though. For me, I’m really happy I switched to the yellow gold.

Good to know. I appreciate you sharing your experience and your honest feedback.

Also, do you think the WG love gets quickly scratched relative to YG or do you think it just shows the scratches more easily? TIA

I thought the 4 diamond WG comes rhodium plated as standard and thus it is the original shape?
And were you referring to the colour being dull even with rhodium plating? I understand without rhodium plating it does look dull, but not so with the plating?

Hi, indeed, it’s rhodium plated and stays beautiful when new, but after some wear it looses all shine, gets matt and scratches are really visible. My YG still shiny after some years of wear.
And to have it after while rhodium replated is ok, brings new look again, but the downside, it’s apparently impossible to keep the edges sharp, they will get rounded, plus some gold is gone during polishing. Something to consider. For example my YG I don’t think I’ll ever polish, no need, and my WG 4 diamonds I gave for polish 2 times before ending up selling it because I didn’t like the look. At the end it’s a personal choice, imho.

Thanks for sharing this info I just got the WG with diamonds and now wondering if I can exchange...with my skin tone what color do you think would be best?

I bought a white gold Love cuff with a single diamond a couple of years ago in like new condition from a reputable dealer in London, however after only wearing it a handful of times (I also have and prefer a yellow gold Love) I noticed a couple of small areas where the rhodium plating appears to have worn off

I would like to sell it to help fund an SM Love in yellow gold with six diamonds  - but have it replated by Cartier first to maximise value. Does anyone based in the UK know how much Cartier are currently charging for this service? TIA!

Sorry for the delay in reply here ya go!
hi, thank you for your pic as well. I also got the WG love bracelet without diamonds and I wish I had read your review prior but it is what it is. I think it look so much better with Rhodium plated, also I think it stocks better with my other white gold jewelry May I ask how you get it rhodium plated? Like the location because I also read other people in purse forum are talking about being rejected by SA from Cartier. Thanks in advance, I really want to get mine plated as well

Drop me a private note and I'll tell you the steps I went through, and have successfully helped others on here with, to get it plated. No regrets here for me, I love the plating on my WG.
