It is not really fair to compare the LV coated canvas with the Gucci normal GG fabric, which is basically not treated fabric and thus will wear over time. The comparition would be rather with the Gucci coated canvas, and they are both very similar in terms of performance and durability. I have a Gucci clutch of my mother in coated canvas from end-70s beginning-80s and the canvas looks great.

Am relieved to read this since I am thinking about the Dionysos in coated canvas and was afraid it the wear and tear would be bad.

I'm am new to Gucci as well, and I think the coated canvas is very high quality...my dilemma is which bag will best complement my current collection. I think the Pink Blooms/ Gucci canvas is a very pretty, sweet and demure look, while the red packs a big punch! My collection consists of mainly neutral bags, and no red. Since I just purchased the Disco in Camellia, a lovely nude, this week, I was thinking Pink Blooms with canvas is in the same color way and I need to branch out. It would make a fabulous Spring/ Summer daily bag for me though...after all that, I'm choosing the red this time. Good luck with your Dionysus research and hopefully upcoming purchase.
Is the color Camellia the taupe color or that blush pink? I haven't bought a Gucci in years but I am on the hunt!

I have not gotten the Shanghai blooms in red yet. My SA has it put back for me, waiting for the Saks triple points event. It should be in a few weeks.
I don't think I've ever seen that one. Can't wait to see yours! Also, I have a havanese too. He's 11 now. :-( Best pet I ever had! Were you ever on the Havanese Forum??

I didn't realize there was a Havanese thread! I will search for it! I'd love to see a picture of your sweet Havanese. Ours is a female, now three years old, and I agree, she's the very best pet we've ever had as well. Our grown Sons are all attached to her too and we got her after they were all college age or beyond. In fact, my brother, who has two Wheaten Terriers, very nice dogs, recently got a Havanese because he and his family fell in love with ours.

Do you like this bag?
I haven't carried it yet, but it is a beautiful bag. It's very well made and understated, yet chic and elegant. I love the color, it's a gorgeous neutral that's not too light or too dark. I've been waiting for Spring, but I don't see why this bag couldn't be used Year- round. I have a few Alma BB 's and this bag definitely holds more while still being a small bag. I can see myself carrying this a lot!

I wasn't able to locate the Havanese thread

100% Red leather with the flowers. Stunning.
Thanks! It is stunning. I'm waffling a bit at the moment though...I haven't seen it in real life, just pics, and someone knowledgeable pointed out it may look " dated" in a year or two...I'm also concerned it may clash with the colors I wear ( warm tones)...I need to decide quickly! I did just get a lovely neutral Disco and two pairs ( Marmont and Princetown) both in Gold. I am very taken with this gorgeous red print though.

My counter to that is, if you do find in a year or so you don't carry it often, I'm sure you can sell it online. I've found over the years as my taste preferences have changed, I just load a bag / shoes / etc, on one of the online shopping consignment places, and I get at least half the value back to put towards whatever it is I'm dying for then.

I also just am not a fan of anything monogram print... with the exception of Louis Vuitton in very very few chic pieces. So I am a little biased.
