Have you looked at pre-owned watches? I got a screaming good deal on mine. Came with the box, booklets and everything. I had to add a link but that was nothing compared to what I saved.

I'm currently in a similar dilemma. Basically I'm trying to choose between my dream handbag (a specific Chanel boy bag) and the regular size Love bracelet--both have been on the top of my wishlist for awhile now. I wasn't expecting it to be SO difficult to find the handbag (it's a classic color combo -- nothing crazy!) and I'm pretty disappointed in the entire buying process. I'm so tempted to give up on the bag for now and get the Love bracelet, but I'm worried that the Chanel prices are going up SO SO much so fast. Ugh, first world problems I know. What made you decide on the small classic flap (I hear those are also so hard to find!)?

This is basically my thought process as well. I feel like I should get the Chanel NOW (if only it were that easy. Ugh) due to the price increases. On the other hand, I would probably be equally as happy with the Love bracelet, which I would wear every single day.

Everytime I go try a bag at Chanel I think about what piece of jewelry I’d rather have. I think that’s when you know. I wear my Cartier love everyday and I look down and it makes me smile. I have a decent amount of bags and feel like a new bag has to provide a specific purpose that my current ones don’t.

This would be my first Chanel. So it’s a REALLY hard decision. However, being that it seems virtually impossible to find the exact bag I want, the decision in favor of the Cartier might be made for me. With either one I’d be ecstatic. First world problems, I know. Lol

Because ultimately I'd wanted the Chanel classic for 15 years (going back and forth between the reissue and the classic flap). I already have some Cartier jewellery and a Cartier tank watch, so I felt that this time, seeing how much the classic had increased during the pandemic it was now or never. I don't intend to have a huge bag collection, and the small classic filled a gap for me. In terms of locating it, I used a personal shopper :smile: which I have to do due to not living anywhere near a Chanel store.

In your case, I don't see the boy bag going up as much as the classic line, and the Cartier love doesn't go up as much either. If the boy is seasonal I'd go for that first. In general I think the regular love is always a better buy than most bags, because it is solid gold and you wear it all the time.

I went to the stores intending to get a jumbo navy blue classic flap. I was sure and was excited about it. Last minute I switched gears and got the Cartier clash, which at the time was about the same price.

Fast forward 2+ years later…. I love the clash and so glad I got it over that bag. Having said that, my bag preference evolved and now I love the idea of a m/l black classic flap with silver hardware but at the prices they’re asking for now, it’s just ridiculous. Maybe in some alternate universe I would have gotten that style bag over the clash and gotten the clash later considering how much the price went up. At the prices now at Chanel though it’s a big fat no for me.

I ended up getting the Cartier love bracelet yesterday and I’m ecstatic. I love it even more than I expected. And I agree that it makes sense in regards to cost per wear since I’ll be wearing it all the time. The boy bag I want is not seasonal and it is considered a classic according to the SA’s I spoke with, so maybe one day for a future milestone (and if the price doesn’t get too outrageous by then), maybe just maybe it’ll be mine.
