Hey everyone,
I haven't been on here in a long time and we are still searching for a perfect engagement ring.
I think we have narrowed it down to two or three:
The classic tiffany solitaire:

The yellow diamond sola (not sure if this will take you there)

and the white diamond soleste

Ideally we are looking around 1.5 carats but possibly up to 2 carats or so in the solitaire. I wear a size 5.
We are also not 100% sure if we are buying from tiffanys or having it made ( it would be cheaper!) I am also trying not to get too involved this time and I don't want to know much! Only what I like lol so please help me choose!!

A solitaire is always classic. The sola is nice, I think someone just posted about getting that ring today! Not too crazy about the 3rd one, I find it a little too busy and distracting from the center stone.

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I pick the yellow diamond soleste! The halo makes the yellow diamond pop while the center diamond of the white soleste gets kind of "lost" in all the bling.

Just a note - 1carat+ center diamond looks more rectangular but a square is harder to come by at the 1.5 size. So if you are fine with more of a rectangular cushion, then I would pick the soleste, if not, I would get it in a smaller carat (the halo already gives it a good amount of finger coverage) or go with the solitiare.

Also, finding a band can be difficult for the soleste, since it's so blinged out. So if you don't mind gaps between your e-ring and w-band, then it wouldn't be a problem, but if you DO mind, then get the solitaire. Also, with a solitiare, you can mix and match and stack a lot of different bands!

I think a 1.5+ solitaire is stunning! Although I think the tiffany solitaire setting comes too high off the hand.

The other rings are beautiful too....I agree with Kohl on the white soleste and the diamond getting lost in all the bling.

Out of those three choices I would go with the yellow sola :)

+1

The sola has a little pizazz for me. Especially for an engagement ring I prefer rings with some personality. Not to say that solitaires aren't beautiful but they dont do for me what a nicely designed ring setting does. And most importantly it's that juicy yellow color. How can you resist!

I agree with Kohl also. The white soleste is a tad too 'blingy' and you notice the centre diamond less...
I think the solitaire is beautiful. You will get more options with your wedding band too!

Thanks guys for your quick responses! We are going into tiffanys tomorrow to take a look. I've seen so many people posting pictures they took in the store, how do you do that? Nobody lets us!! lol
my boyfriend really likes the yellow diamond and the solitaire, Im just worried about not always loving the yellow!
We'll see tomorrow hopefully!

Solitaire but unles you really love the Tiffany's name, go elsewhere! There's many online vendors that you can go through and get a similar setting even.

If you're unsure about the yellow, don't get it! If there is any doubt in your mind i think you should pass. Because with yellow, it'll just be more and more as you get used to it. I love all the settings personally.

solitaire. I love the yellow sola but if you aren't 100% sold going into it, then it's not one that will capture your heart forever. I don't like the third option. And with solitaires you can always be original with the wedding band, or stacking or whatever.
Since you are slightly considering going someplace other than tiffany's, I think it is something you should explore. You will get more for your dollar and if the name isn't important, it's definitly worth looking!

They are all SO PRETTY! Three of my fav TIffany styles!

I own the 1.5 classic solitaire from Tiffany's and adore it! Don't find it sits up too high at all! :) So my #1 vote is for that but have been obsessed with the yellow diamond solestes too lately so that's #2...

You can't go wrong here!!!

Do you like simple or want something more elaborate? I have a Tiffany solitaire and over the years have found it too simple for my liking. I've purchased 4 different styles of bands in an attempt to "dress it up", but honestly I just need to get it re-set into something with more pizzaz.

Also, if you are going to pay for the Tiffany markup, I'd get something more elaborate/unique than a solitaire. A 2 carat solitaire at Tiffany will run you in the ballpark of $30K (more for higher colors), and you can get an almost exact replica for much, much less.

I love tiffany's solitaire setting. Trying them on is the key. You also may want to consider your wedding band, as others have mentioned. I have an emerald cut solitaire from tiffanys. I don't wear a w-band, but if I did I would have a gap. For some people this might be a problem. You also may want to consider if you'll ever upgrade. If you do and chose either of the halo rings you should look at a larger carat size to see how it looks as kohl suggested.

Good luck!!!

You have now more a solid idea about your e-ring, after trying them on!

I think a 2ct solitaire ring and a 1.5-carat Soleste YD ring can be found at the same price range. Each sparkels differently. I LOVE both.;) I LOVE my Classic Solitiare so much and I am so sure that I will never find it too simple. HOWEVER, a halo ring looks SO nice now! So, I would say, a Soleste YD ring.;) The ring is irresistible.:supacool: I am excited to find out which ring you like more! Good Luck.
