Hi Ladies, I am looking at 2 Tiffany rings. One is the Soleste cushion cut and the other is the Soleste emerald cut. Both rings are similar carat weight of 1.02 but the cushion cut looks much bigger because of the 2 rows of small diamonds surrounding it, my ring finger is 4.5. My question is which one should I go for?! I love them both! any help and opinions is much appreciated. TIA!
The first pic is the emerald cut.

This is the cushion cut. both rings are similar in price.

I have the yellow diamond cushion soleste and I have tried on the emerald soleste as well. IMHO, between the two rings you've shown, I like the the cushion cut soleste more given the better finger coverage with the double haloes. I also feel that the cushion cut is more sparkly than the emerald as there are more facets to the stone. I would like the emerald soleste more if the center stone were a larger carat size - maybe 1.5 or even 2 carats? :graucho:

Lol I did try on the bigger sizes in both rings but luckily I have small fingers so 1.5 ct looks huge on me. The store is getting both rings in approx 1.2 ct so slightly bigger sizes than the pics in for me to try but I think value for money would be the cushion. Thank you for your input!

Thanks mods!

I prefer the look of the cushion in this setting on your hand. Not so much the bigger appearance, but because it looks good with this cutting style.

I think if the Emerald Cut was NOT haloed I'd prefer it. I prefer step cuts to be solitaires or three stones...just not haloed typically. The halo has to be a different style for me to like it...I dunno. Personally, I am not a big fan of haloed stepcuts. I feel like it distracts from the step pattern. The only steps I am less against haloes on are things like crisscuts or ashokas. Those modifications to the traditional step patterns are really pretty and work well on their own or with haloes.

Thank you, I think I will go for the cushion with slightly bigger center stone than the one in the picture. My store has got 1.16 and 1.3 center stones transferred in so I can pick one on Wednesday.

I think the cushion looks better on you. The emerald is on my list so I will get that one day. The emerald looks good on you too but I prefer the finger coverage of the cushion on you.

Emerald cut please!!!! It looks so elegant and sophisticated and has that old world charm. You don't see many wearing it. The second ring looks like it's wanna be big... My honest opinion. Good luck deciding.
