I’m paring down due to owning too many bags and running out of space to keep them.
If you could keep one of these, which would it be?

Chanel ivory caviar Reissue single flap with bijoux chain:

I'm surprising myself, but I would keep the Chanel. The Reissue is the only small bag I like and with caviar and the strap, it's really special.

When someone is downsizing a collection, is it usually done in this manner, where one chooses between bags from different brands? Or would you gather all your bags from the same brand (eg. Chanel) and remove your least favourite from that group?

In my case, I have many Reissues and this one is the least attractive (yet probably most useful.) It’s also within a window of time where I can sell it back at a slight loss, so this is the Reissue I chose to possibly send back. I know I can’t part with the others. And it is a similar color and style and usage (fits a lot, light color) to the YSL, so I am trying to choose between the two. :flowers: I can’t promise that I will be successful though. I still have plenty of others to start parting with.

Thanks, I totally get why you're choosing between these two bags.

I was asking because I'm downsizing, too (clothes and bags) and am trying to figure out a good system to follow. I usually donate once I find that I don't love something anymore, or if I have several similar pieces then I remove the multiples.
However, I'm at a point where I love everything I own and can't figure out how to start the process. I guess it doesn't matter how we do it, so long as we just get the ball rolling! :smile:

Best of luck. They're both beautiful so you're a winner whichever you choose to keep. Back to your regular scheduled programming... :biggrin:

I would, too! It's the purpose, quality and the bag itself that's more important than the brand. I make decisions on buying and selling bags and SLG in the same way.

jblended, Let’s message about our downsizing! I’d love to see photos of what you’re thinking about letting go. I guess I will go ahead and start with my other bags that I am more certain about getting rid of. I’d have to take an immediate loss getting rid of the Chanel since it is a recent purchase, so I’ll keep it. Single flap is so useful and white is so clean! I was really surprised by the votes!! This Reissue isn’t a special color and isn’t iridescent or anything, so I figured people would think it’s plain.
