I finally made it to a boutique to look for that special piece (and also my first VCA piece ever!) - and as predicted, am still so torn so thought I would do another poll :)


All around the same price - my initial thoughts :

10 motif MOP necklace - pro: more of a statement piece con: probably less useful and potentially more formal?

1 motif diamond motif - pro: special casual luxury everyday piece con: just 1 motif, looks a little small?

5 motif MOP Bracelet and matching earrings - pro: two pieces, versatile, more useful. Con: maybe less exciting?

I don’t have a photo of the last pair!

I think in these crazy pandemic times, a fun purchase like this SHOULD be exciting! For that reason, I’m knocking off option 3 since you yourself are questioning if that will be exciting enough.

So now we are left with 1 or 2. They both look beautiful on you, though I’m going to go with the 10 motif. It really looks beautiful against your skin tone and the 10 motif really makes a statement in a way the single motif does not (yes, even with the diamonds. It’s lovely, but over time the single motif will start to look small. It’s on odd phenomenon ;) )

I personally think the MOP 10 motif is really versatile and can be worn casually. I have the 10 motif hammered gold and I wear it often and my style is strictly casual. I think you could dress it up or down, so though you mentioned a con being potentially less useful, I definitely think it will be way more useful than you think!

I think both are absolutely gorgeous and you can’t go wrong with either! But are you someone who wants to lower the cost per wear and get a lot of use out of your piece? Because if so, I’d go for the diamonds. Just because you can wear it 24/7 without taking it off! More of a laidback piece compared to the MOP which you have to take off before showering since you can’t get it wet.
i think both are stunning but the diamonds have that edge over the 10 motif?? Idk, hard to choose! Just depends if wearability is something that you consider!

Can't go wrong with any of your options. Here's my thought:

Your first VCA piece is always special so you should opt for the one that you find exciting and that makes your hear sing.

You mention that the earrings and the bracelet are not that exciting so you may want to eliminate that option. While I love the idea of having 2 pieces instead of one, I like the idea of buying a more expensive item as your first piece. If you want the earrings or bracelet later, you can always buy them separately. I find that when I buy small pieces first, it's harder to "save up" for the larger ones. However if you are a "cost per wear" type person (I am!), the bracelet and earrings probably make the most sense as they are both versatile.

While I like the diamond pendant on you, you mention that it appears "small". I have a magic MOP and a regular holiday pendant and the holiday does feel small when I wear it. That being said, the diamonds are beautiful but if you want an everyday piece, it doesn't necessarily have to be diamond, maybe go guilloche, or another stone.

I think the 10 motif is beautiful. I don't have one because I also think it's more formal. However, recently I began to consider getting one in chalcedony as I've seen photos on this forum where people wear it casually - with T-shirts, sweaters, jeans, denim shirts, etc and it looks great! I think you can actually wear it more than you think!

Again, you can't go wrong with any of the choices above. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I vote for for the single diamond pendant because you can wear it all the time and cost per wear would be low, and it is stunning!!! My barista has it and I can’t stop staring every time :love:

I got the single MOP motif pendant / bracelet and I still regret not getting the diamond pendant first, it’s high on my wish list and I feel like I have to baby my MOP taking it off for the shower, beach, workout etc so it’s definitely not daily pieces for me.

Wow I really appreciate everyone’s comments - they are all super helpful! I don’t know why it’s such a hard decision (probably bc I would love any and all of them truly!). Just hoping to make the “right” choice for now ... :)

you will most likely end up with all of them eventually so I would pick what you get most usage of!! :)

for me I can’t really enjoy my pieces as much as I would want to due to my lifestyle.
