Which necklace for my mom? (53rd birthday gift!)

Hi everyone!
My mom will be celebrating her 53rd birthday soon. As I have graduated recently and got a job (and therefore have the financial capabilities to do so), I would like to surprise her with a nice birthday gift.

I've already gifted her a pair of Cartier DLDC diamond studs in WG, sm. It was her first "big brand" item. So I was thinking about getting her a necklace this time (and it will be her first "big brand" necklace). It should be something that she can wear everyday, mostly on a casual basis, that can be exposed to water etc. Nothing "fragile" so MOP or similar not an option. Which of the following options would you prefer if you were her? (age) other suggestions also welcome!

1. Cartier love interlocking necklace (no diamonds)
2. Cartier love 2 diamonds
3. VCA Guilloche Alhambra
4. Cartier trinity (the one with a diamond in the middle)
5. No necklace, but a LV bag

Hi again!

I would go for the C de Cartier or 1895 Diamond solitaire. I know it's not on your list, but I feel like those two are more classic, simple and versatile.

The only thing is the C de Cartier only comes in RG, but having said that, even a ~.30 ct is great for everyday because the setting makes the diamond look so much more substantial, and I really like the weight the setting provides.

The 1895 comes in yellow gold - I don’t know about WG, because I’m not a WG person. This diamond appears to float more but doesn’t have that weight about it.

In comparing the two, all diamond quality markers being the same, the C de Cartier will usually end up costing more due to the extra gold weight, but both are lovely and classics in my opinion.

What does your mom love the most? Is her eye always on jewelry or bags? Do you have any jewelry from Cartier or Van Cleef, maybe she told you before, whose design she is more attracted to, Van Cleef or Cartier?
Personally, at the moment I prefer jewelry than a bag. I know many will choose the opposite.
What did your mother always want more, a good bag or a piece of jewelry? I think either way, both the jewelry and the bag are a great idea. I think you first need to decide between a bag or jewelry, and then choose)

From the necklaces I like 2,3,4 and don’t like 1.
Especially number 2 necklace with two chain think it’s not fragile)
Bag LV also nice)

You are an awesome daughter to want to do something special for your mom! Is it possible to call your SA and have the Cartier neclaces available for her to select and choose from in the store? An outing would be so fun and i'm sure the SA would make it special. You could pre-arrange only necklaces in your price range too.

What a thoughtful girl you are. When my little one draws me a card with lots of heart shapes with me in it I already wanna cry. I'm very sure your mom appreciates whatever you've chosen for her!

not sure what she likes in general but jewelry definitely is a good start (vs a bag and who goes out these days?! #pandemic).A jewelry piece that is timeless and can wear 24/7 is the best.

This is so sweet of you. I have two very thoughtful girls like you and I am about your mom's age. I would say number 3.

I also think this is such a beautiful sentiment. Jewelry is forever so definitely a necklace. I like the idea of the cartier love interlocking necklace which can represent the bond between the two of you. That said, literally any of these necklaces would be so wonderful!
