Artsy, check out this eBay auction. Mods it ended and it's not my auction.

In case my link doesn't work, it's a 2010 never used artsy with receipt for $1498 winning bid $1628.

Yes, I was watching this auction! I would rather buy at the boutique and we don't pay tax here in Oregon. The bidders must have some ebay bucks to use or ebay coupons because I just don't get why they will pay higher than retail.

Me too! Can't fig it out. Maybe they r blacklisted? Or they'd rather use pp bal than cc? I think for a mono bag, artsy does quite well in resale. Speedy too but there r a lot of them on the market.

Only some LE's have good resale. Namely, the lower-priced, popular canvas bags: Aquarelle, Graffiti, etc.

But perfo? The Rubis totes? The $3k Riveting bags? They're not selling for close to their original retail.

I'd say any of the most common bags, especially in mono: speedies, keepalls, neverfulls. Cosmetics cases also seem to do well secondhand.

I've sold some of my lvs. I sold it for more than I paid for on a mono Alma...but it was used less than 5 times. I sold two speedies close to retail price but they were also mint...used less than 5 times.

I think whether the bag will hold it's value depends on the type of bag and it's condition. The ones I sold will always be a classic and be in style. But many other bags are dated and not popular anymore so they would not retain their value as well.

I noticed that Chanel bags are more of an investment than lv bags since the value of chanels go up every year due to their crazy price hikes. My medium beige flap which cost me $1700 a couple of years back currently retails for $3500 or $3700 something crazy like that. I've seen them sell for over $3000 used condition!

Agree.
LV prices seems to stay constant n not much change

I'm glad that some of you have voted Speedys and Kusama... the only way I could reason with myself for spending that much on my green Kusama Speedy (at least 3 times what I've ever spent before on a bag) was because I figured I could at least get my money back if I sell it!

LE for sure since once they are sold out resale is the only way to get one. Of the regular line, I think Speedy and NF, they are the most popular and I've seen Speedys on eBay for almost the new price - sometimes even bid up above the new price and I assume those are people who can't order from LV (example I'm in Canada and we only have LV stores in a few provinces, but we can't order from the LV website either).

I don't necessarily think LEs are always that great. For instance, the cerises line has dropped dramatically in value. Can easily be purchased now in almost mint condition well under retail. I can think of others as well. Depends on the line. I honestly don't feel the Kusama line is going to fare well 5 years down the road either. Per my SA, it hasn't been as popular as they had hoped. Lots of pieces still available. That doesn't necessarily bode well for later.

If an item is kind of odd, yes, you'll get the people who are buying solely because it's LE, but unless it's really something people love on its own merit, it won't wear well as far as resale value A lot of people for instance found the cerises line a little childish. Consequently, the bottom fell out of that line. It's happened with several others, especially kind of really out there bags So I wouldn't buy LE as an investment, rather only if I actually liked the bag. That's why Speedies, neverfuls, etc do so well. More people actually like them as a bag they want to carry. I'd never buy any LV for an investment on a monetary basis anyway. Quality has gone down. People are becoming aware of that. There are no guarantees. Buy something because you love it. The classics will always do well as far as resale.
