Has anyone watched Michelle Wang? YIKES, she has the personality of an executioner. I really don't understand why anyone would take beauty advice or any other advice from her.
I just watched her new video (didn't know her before) and I can see that she might leave that impression. However, I personally do like women that can be seen as harsh and I am really interested in that eyeshadow palette she talked about.

I do love her (and I wont lie I love her and David's relationship). I think she isway less fake and vapid than a lot of influencers which is why I keep watching her. Honestly, though, I have not found many influencers whose styled I loved. They are mostly boring carbon copies of one another. At least Sophie is pleasing herself.
I really like Sophie Shohet. Firstly because she was very frank about her eating disorder, secondly as she had some pieces I really loved that were not over the top price-wise. Once she wore a blouse I immediately bought bc it was so pretty.
this one:

Actually the newer yt videos are really not my piece of cake dress-wise. I am not so much into her style, but at the end of the day: I am an old lady with really wider hips, so why dare thinking about dressing like a young woman in her 30ies with size 2? 0? 4?

Does anyone else get annoyed by the 'luxury live show' that fashionablyamy and kat L put together? It's so boring and repetitive. I can't believe they actually charge their subscribers for that.

More on fashionablyamy: it's such a pity that she bought all the hermes stuff to get a birkin and had to pretend she really enjoyed her 'journey'
Same I can’t believe they charge subscribers for such repetitive content. Recently Amy got yet another H unboxing without mentioning the bag she has been waiting for for ages… and I don’t fully appreciate kat s view that these bags are rentals in the sense that she can sell if she wants to for value (she s thinking of selling her birkin already after only getting it for not so long) .. I recently stopped watching both…

I do. I don't really get that vibe from her but maybe she's trying to maintain a more professional look for her makeup videos? Her vlogs are very casual and not editorial at all.
I don't really take beauty advice from her but I do like watching her try makeup. She fits a more unique niche of older women with more mature skin and as I age I want to know what products will work better for me. (and I don't want to be shelling out $$ to try makeup and skincare so I'll leave that up to her lol)

I've learned to be wary of beauty influencers. A lot of their recommendations seem to change on a daily basis. You can't tell me you've been wearing a foundation every day for a month when last week you said the same thing about a different foundation.

I do have a few influencers I trust for tech, like Level 1 techs, Linus Tech Tips, and JayZTwoCents.

Saw Cassie Thorpe unboxing her new mini kelley. She mentioned how she barely spent before getting offered her Birkin 2 years back; now she got a blanket, ear clip , twilly & fluffy orans before she was offered a mini kelley after 2 months in new york.
I'm guessing the fact that she has nearly 100k subscribers played into it, but i dislike the fact that it sounds from her like oh no need for so much pre spend etc.
For most people they do need high pre spend & to wait way longer.
I'm happy for her but feel it's misleading.
What do you think?

Her excitement is so great to see! Not sure about her new offer but I think her Birkin was through the wishlist system in the UK so different than many others' current experiences in the US.

I have been watching Colorful Noir’s vlogs. I appreciate the simplicity of her style and careful / intentional approach to her luxury purchases. I am close to finish watching all her vlogs. Can anyone recommend another vlogger who is like Colorful Noir? She has been a good influence to me. I stick better to my low buy since started watching her vlogs.

I have been watching her on and off for years.

I'm not sure what "the personality of an executioner" is exactly (I can only guess :D ) but she strikes as me as a person who tries hard to vibe 'stealth' and ends up buying designer slides and Chanel for the CCs (which she does). I also feel annoyed by a) her moves into 'lifestyle' from beauty and her soft-advertising of her own jewellery and knit lines etc :sleepy: .

I don't watch her blogs or life updates, unboxings etc - I would literally fall asleep. However, she took time to grow her channel, and at least for a little while she was supportive towards other influencers (lots of the collab stuff is evidently less popular lately).

However, I have found her beauty and skincare advice OK . She has years of product knowledge already and has a preference for daytime neutral looks that don't take too long. She is also really good at editing and has professional tech values. Like Lexi Jong and Charlotte Holdcroft she's a self-professed enthusiast amateur not a MUA, gets interesting luxury beauty stuff (still buys too). The one niggle is that she can be a bit lazy, putting 3 separate blushes on one cheek (because she doesn't want to put on and take off 3 times) is not going to be very helpful in determining a single colour/look. I think she's one of the better ones for info etc.

Someone I can relate to more is Alicia Archer. On one hand she's more into the 'artistic vision' of a MUA behind a brand and personal expression of the wearer, and on the other I find her more 'real'. I just get the feeling she only buys/keeps/shows what she's really into and going to personally use. She has a life outside too. She doesn't get so much PR stuff, tries to think about/like her audience, does lots of original content (not what ever the new content creator 'it' vid is) and really loves her makeup.

Tried watching So Anesu but I find her very misleading.
Brands she lists as high end are not at all; bags she lists as comparable to Hermes- not in the slightest, etc.
I also didn't care for her video on what to wear to a funeral, discussing power dresses or dresses that will wow everyone at a funeral? Seemed odd to me.

I used to like Sophie shohet and Cassie more but I find neither is my style; too many unboxings/ shopping blogs and less of the humor and brutal honesty that originally drew me in.
