Which Hermes bag is a great everyday bag?

Hi liness92,

a Birkin or a Kelly -- especially if you have SATC co-works as fans of the show >>>> LOL, yes you are right...hahahaha...

I like evelyn but because the inner side is not lined, I do not think it is a good idea to wear at where I live....It will turn disastrous with this humid weather, the same goes with picotin ...

Bolide is classy and Lindy is modern, I am liking them both....also hermesmonkey's GAO bag.... it just so understated and practical too ....

Hope when the right time comes, the right bag will appear :smile1: .Right now I am using my chanel bag. It is eas to get in and out of the bag (because it is rectangular with one clasp in the centre) but the chains....oh so heavy sometimes ...

w.y.h. it depends on what "everyday" is for you. I find when I'm with my young children the Evelyn is ideal as it's hands free and I don't have to worry about it so much. The Bolide and Lindy are also great bags for being out and about and for work (as they are a little more under the radar than a Birkin or a Kelly -- especially if you have SATC co-works as fans of the show.

For me, definitely my [35cm black ostrich] Birkin. It's super duper durable, scratchproof, and water resistant!!! Plus, it's quite light and fits tons of things! It's clearly a bag meant to be used!

I prefer Lindy as an everyday bag. Birkin would be the best choice, but sometimes its price makes me worried when tucking it under my seat in aeroplanes etc... I guess you understand what I mean!
Lindy looks casual, but feels elegant. You can carry it over your shoulder or in your hand and it looks good. It's very modern and works with different outfits. I recommend it!

If you're a shoulder kinda gal, why not a Victoria Fourre-Tout? I've seen several women here in France with their 35cm (or thereabouts) Victorias slung over the shoulder...very chic!

W.Y.H., here are a couple more pics of the Gao that my SA had sent me a couple months ago. These are both in Clemence:

Although my first choice is typically a 35cm Birkin...I positively love the 37cm Bolide and 37cm Paris Bombay "High". They are both very accommodating and easy to carry. I've attached a photo of two Bombays. The gold clemence is 37cm.

Luciana12, those are 2 lovely bombays....

I like the one on the right, I used to really like a longish but shorter bags as it is really easy to organize you things and you do not need to dig and dig and dig for your things when you need to find something.....
When a bag is too tall you feel .....*&@!$%^:cursing: when you need to find something......worse still, if the bag is black....

It was one of the reason why I  JPG birkin first initially, compared to the normal birkins, but alas, rationality sets in, and for a first birkin it is better to get the norm sizes.....

Thank you! I truly enjoy the structure of the 40cm Bombay...and the height and depth do make it easy to organize. I mentioned the 37cm as it fits beautifully over the shoulder and really is a "great everyday bag". Good luck in your search for the perfect bag!!
