Which earrings to wear with vintage Alhambra necklace/ bracelet?

I agree, it is not much at all. I am super matchy matchy, and I wear my VA MOP earrings, a 20 MOP, and two MOP bracelets, all at the same time.

I vote get the earrings! If you want to go simple, I agree with others diamond studs work great. If you wear pearls, I would just check the overtone matches as MOP is not the same as a true pearl. I have the WG MOP, and for WG, VCA uses MOP that has a very silver overtone. My pearls have more of a pink overtone, so they do not match, hence I never wear pearls with my VCA MOP. I actually thought they would go okay, and I could mix and match my pearls with the VCA WG MOP, but they do not look good at all, not to me.

My guess is you have the YG MOP, and VCA uses more a pink overtone for their MOP, so you should be okay. Just compare though to be sure... assuming that matters to you.

For me though, I vote get the matching earrings! It will be a beautiful set!
What earrings would you wear your pearl strands with? Do you go matchy matchy and wear pearl studs with pearl necklace?

You know me too well! I am always matchy matchy with something!
Yes, if I am wearing my pearls, I ty to wear something else "pearl" on me.

Basically, there are four main categories for wearing jewelry: earrings, necklace, bracelet, ring.
I always match a minimum of two of these categories, a maximum of three, but never four.

The best match for me is the ear and neck. For example, I will wear VA earrings and a 20 motif. Or, I will wear pearl studs and pearl necklace(s). I think matching the earrings and necklace beautifully frames the face. It's a look that ties any outfit together in my opinion.

At times, I will wear a ring and matching earrings, for example, my Lotus ring and earrings. In this case, if I also wear my pearl necklace, I will wear my pearl necklace along with pearl bracelets.

One other thought as I know you are considering pearls. I never wear my pearl necklace(s) with diamond studs. Diamonds studs to me are hard to wear with a pearl necklace. In many cases, the pearls are larger than the diamond stud. The pearls are also a strand; hence you see a beautiful glow. The diamond studs being smaller compared to the size of the pearls then adds nothing to the strand, and I personally feel it takes away from the pearls. Diamonds are not better in this scenario to me unless perhaps one wears them with 4ct tw diamond studs that can stand on its own next to the pearls (my diamond studs are only 2ct tw). Even so, I do not like the look of a single diamond stud worn next to a strand of pearls; I don't think it's a coordinated look. I think pearl studs look much better. The pearls glow on your ears, you cannot miss them. It's like two little pearls hopped off the necklace and hopped on to the ears. Such a beautiful and clean look to me.

Just my thoughts for another point of view. It's all preference as jewelry is so personal. I hope that made sense and helps explain.

I have thought about pearl necklace with diamond earrings (maybe not studs, just the smaller version of Lotus--- not the open work one, they have the 3 cluster lotus now and it seems that one of the flowers from the cluster is suited to wear to work). I have never thought about what earrings to wear with necklace because I don't usually wear necklace as I have a jade pendant that I seldom take off. Now I am considering the pearl necklace that I can wear double, but wearing it double is almost overwhelming so I cannot imagine adding a pair of earrings to wear it with but I have to try them all on to see if it's too much.

I thought about wearing it with alhambra sweet but not sure.

Thank you so much for sharing your preference.

I think Lotus, diamond cluster earrings, Sweets would all look great! Just not plain studs for me, but your choices above will be really nice with your strands.
Good luck! I hope you get your strand soon!

My family is much more conservative style-wise than my DH’s. I remember when I was given my first “real” jewelry as a pre-teen also getting lectures from my mother and grandmothers about when to wear pearls and when to wear diamonds and vaguely remember something about basically not combining them. But I don’t remember well as I didn’t learn the lesson and became very assimilated to my mother in law especially but really all my DH family women’s very ostentatious style especially with lots of jewelry and not minding the kinds of rules the women in my family follow. Some of my relatives have married old money wasp American types and they would probably judge me less if I remembered these proper rules my grandmothers tried to teach me but it’s just too fun to be showy “Eurotrash” so… *shrug*

Your comment on Eurotrash is so funny. I am American, and in my travels, mainly to London and Paris, I find Europeans are more subdue in their jewelry, and it is the Americans who bling out. For me, I find I definitely turn it down a notch when I am Europe.

I think it depends a lot on where in Europe. I am from Turkey, where the dominant style is not subdued, although there are some exceptions for sure. I guess it also depends where in America, since I often feel even more understated in Miami than I do in Istanbul so...

Thank you everyone answering my questions :flowers: I need your help again.
i went to try onyx necklace, earrings and bracelet. They only had earrings in sweet size (I wanted to try vintage) but I can only get 2 pieces due to the price or one- 2 motifs carnelian earrings. I love them so I also tried bracelet in this colour but not sure I could wear them daily. Are they not too much?
Please have a look at the pictures and let me know your thoughts

I think the onyx earrings look great on you. It really works and pops with your coloring. I would put a deposit down on the vintage YG and onyx earrings, and have them ship it to you when they are available. Then I would get the onyx 5 motif. If you prefer the pendant then do that. The two motif earrings are gorgeous on you too, but I think you would get more wear out of the vintage onyx ear studs. And it would be a no to the carnelian bracelet as I think the onyx looks better on you. Just IMHO.

I love the Carnelian Earrings on you

So, my personal struggle with onyx is this: I am pale and blonde and as much as I love onyx on other Ladies, I am afraid it could be too dark on my complexion, especially as earrings. The Carnelian on the other hand, looks just amazing.

For me, the whole set (onyx earrings, pendant and 5 motif) is not too much. This is because the earrings and pendant are singles motifs and the bracelet is far away from both the earrings and pendant. If you can only get 2 pieces, I would recommend the earrings in vintage size and the pendant. They look really nice on you. If you have the extra budget, then the 5 motif. I love the bracelet and it is one of the pieces which I feel makes an outfit. Can't wait to see what you get in the end.

Russian women can be more bling bling than their other European counterparts but I wouldn't call it "Euro Trash" per say.
