Hi All-Just brought home the giant dip dye in cassis/violine. Unfortunately, photos can't show the lovely tone on tone qualities of the shawl. I was going to get a cashmere to keep me warm, but am always concerned about the size being to bulky. This weight and the finish is fantastic against the skin, and one can wrap it around the neck quite a few times to keep you warm! Best of all it goes with a lot of my black, gray, navy and deep brown/reds. Its plummy for some, but for the weather here in the northern CA, it is perfect. I brought home the Celeste in Aubergine too-I guess it must be my color this year! Enjoy!::yahoo:

Congratulations on taking the plunge to the 140 silks lanit - it looks beautiful on you!

This is the best advert I've so far for the large dip dyes - they are wearable!

^^^ congrats poshhoney! How have you chosen to wear it?
Thanks Roo. With the weather as it is (more snow today!) and despite having it over a month, i'm embarrassed to say it's not been out of the box yet! However....I bought it on the basis that I'll wear it the same way as my GMs - a casual sling-around with the ends hanging. Will do some pics if I ever see the sun again...

And looking gorgeous lanit- love the red/ purple on you!

^ sounds pretty poshhoney! Was wondering how it hung in comparison to the cashmere - but I'm guessing that because its soft it will drape nicely and not show a stiffness I associate with the silk twills - perhaps I should give it a whirl!

This is just perfect for your wardrobe and colouring - really stunning on you - I saw a lady in H store wearing this c/w a few weeks ago and she was wearing shades of grey, it looked really beautiful - congratulations!
:smile1:

Aww-thank you everyone. You will love this size and finish, trust me. I always enjoy the crispness of silk in spring and summer for the regular size, but this oversize just feels like a well loved piece against the skin. Try it-you'll like!:blushing:

I agree, my pale blue GM BdG DD is wonderfully soft and drapes just beautifully!

There is a pale pink and a pale blue AND a jeans-type blue, which were all my favorites - but the pale blue suited me best. The other colors were deep green, wine red, deep gold if I remember correctly. Aren't some of the GM Surteints on the H website? Let's go have a look... the USA site differs from what is offered on the European sites. (LOTS more enamel bangles on offer on the US site!)

That pale blue is very tempting - but did I see one in a darker blue, or was it a trick of the light?

Yes there is certainly a pale gris and very pale blue version (comes out as a lovely light blue scarf overall) as well as the more mid blue bleu jean and ciel version as I debated over the 2 versions.
So far I have also seen the pale gris and rose (overall a v pale pink); green (lovely rich forest green); yellow (mustard tone did nothing for me) and cassis (gorgeous as above) versions in store.

Thank you Markova - glad that I wasn't imagining things, as that blue is gorgeous and much closer to the blues that I feel I can wear. I'm intrigued by the deep gold - I'll check the US site to see if there's a picture there.

Poshhoney - Thanks for the run down of c/w that you've spotted. I saw the green too - I already have the canard/turquiose version, so hard pressed to justify two, although from memory the 140 seems a cleaner, fresher green than its 90cm relative.

The blue is definitely calling my name though. Will give some more thought!
