Which Cartier Bracelet First?

I chose the yellow gold Love because I've read on here the white gold love isn't rodium plated(?) unless you get it with diamonds meaning it's grayish, and because I'm not too fond of the JUC. The Love is definitely the more timeless choice.

It looks like most people overwhelminglyvoted for the YG love, and I think that is my first choice also.


A few responses below.

I chose the WG love because that's what I have (and also it would match your wedding set). But if I were in your position I'd show DH pictures of the three choices and ask him to pick. That way you'll have a surprise on Christmas morning and it'll be more special knowing that he chose it.

This is a great idea. I definitely do want DH to be on board with the final choice and will send him pictures with some of my thoughts.

If you are super matchy then maybe the WG, however, I would get the YG first! My ER/WR are also platinum but I am insanely in love with the YG Love with it (it wasy first piece of YG jewelry) and now helps tie in other YG jewelry like my VCA bracelet. For me, I wanted the iconic original YG (mine is 4 diamond). I think if you ultimately want one with diamonds, I would wait to do the WG with diamonds because it has a coating which keeps the WG staying shinier than the WG w/o the diamonds.

I have heard that about the WG and diamond and also that diamond bracelets are usually thicker than the ones without diamond. Do you know if that's true? Ideally, I would want to get a YG first and then a WG w/ diamond later.

Agree with everyone above. YG Love first. It's a classic, will never look dated, or too trendy. It's not big or gaudy so most people don't even notice it but I always get compliments on it from people who do even the ones that have no idea about the Cartier brand or what a love bracelet is. I've had mine for 2 years now and it's been on my wrist the whole time. Never had a problem with it coming loose or falling off. You won't regret it!

Is yours the new screw system or the old one? And do you ever have any problems with the screws loosening?

I say go for a LOVE first. If you like matchy matchy, WG might be your best bet. If you are open to mixing, have you thought about rg? It will go well with your ER and actually pairs beautifully with hermes bracelets. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion about RG. I do love it and it looked very subtle in the store. The SA was wearing just a simple RG JUC and it looked so beautiful on her. It's just that I have some YG jewelry and would like for my go-to bracelet to match that or my wedding set.

Agreed! Think my goal would be the YG love and then a WG love with diamonds or YG/RG JUC.

I would vote for the yg love first although if your DH's response was that he needed to check finances first , and you purchases an Hermes bag that he doesn't know about , you had better come forward with him or you just might be getting coal from Santa.

But, both are being paid for by me. DH does not ask about my purchases and I generally let him know just to be open. The bracelet would be from him, but I probably should wait until the new year because of his general attitude about luxury goods.

My vote would be for YG Love, especially if you will have to wait awhile for another bracelet. What hardware is on your new H bag? Maybe you should go by that, YG for ghw, WG if you bought something with phw. Just a thought!

I have the YG 4 diamond LOVE and it is one of my favorite jewelry pieces. I also love the no diamond YG LOVE, It is quintessential Cartier and the perfect first piece.
