I love the leather on this but it is way different than my other 06 bags. This one is more thick/stiff but slouches beautifully when worn. I'm hoping with time it'll soften

Yes!
Frankfurt airport was a nightmare having to haul carryon and bag up and down stairs in numerous areas, including up to the plane!
The shoulder strap was invaluable because it gave me a free hand for the railing.

There’s no airport I despise more than Frankfurt’s. I will pay a premium to avoid connecting through there. I’m sure there are way worse airports; I just haven’t been there to develop a burning hatred for them.
