where is the best place to sell H items?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

depending on how expensive your items are... if so I think it isn't going to be easy on Ebay as you are a 0 feedback seller, I think you would be better off using a reseller.

Thanks for the advice but I am not selling birkins - I am selling other H bags and they will be over $3000 mostly. Who/what is craiglist by the way? And which reseller would you recommend and how? Thanks

Craigslist is technically a collection of sites covering most of the major cities. There's a classified section, and people often sell things VERY quickly via that method.

Then there are consignment shops, selling to a reseller (though the market is WAY down at the moment) or other types of local ads. My city has a magazine where the ad is free, and when you sell, you give them a flat 10%.

Good luck!

According to your experiences, what is the best way to sell a birkin and get most of your investment back? Is it ebay (shudder!), consignment, or craiglist? or another venue?

I want to sell my current one so i can get an exotic!!

Thank you for your answers.

^I think you lose a lot of money over consignment though and used Birkins are no longer selling for a premium in the current economic climate. Selling privately to friends might be an option?

I've sold two via *bay, and one through a consignment. It can be a toss up as far as what your return is. *Bay charges a fee, and if you take PayPal, they take a cut, too.

I prefer a consignor that charges a flat fee, and whatever PayPal has charged them, if that's how it was paid for. Less PITA.

Oh please. Don't even bother with craiglist. Fakes galore.

consignment and I recommend you contact Nancy at Kaleidoplace ([email protected]) - you will have a superb experience - she is a woman of integrity and intelligence, to mention only two of her fine qualities.

COnsignment. I have palpitations even selling a scarf to friends. Consignors who are reputable and trustworthy earn every penny.

:yes::yes::yes: I second this. I consigned my Birkin with Nancy. She was a joy to work with and charged a reasonable fee, not the 40% that some of them do. She had prospective buyers before I even sent the bag to her (it was a black box 35, so a pretty classic, in demand one.) It was no hassle at all, very easy, pleasant, and fair.

Hi guys,

First time starting a thread, so my apologies if this is the wrong place!

Just out of curiosity, where/how do you guys sell your unwanted Hermes bags? eBay? Bonanza? I'm not too keen on dealing with the fees that eBay takes, especially with high-priced items.

xxx

Thanks in advance!
