Where is the best place to go H shopping Paris or Italy?

VAT is different in each country in Europe, but I have noticed that Hermes just leaves the total price the same.
For example: ties are teh same price in Belgium as in France, but France has 19% and Belgium 21%.
Off course the claim back at the airport could be different. i don't know anything about that.

You'll have a better chance of finding a birkin in Paris, but if you can get one in Italy, it is a little bit cheaper due to the VAT refund. I bought my white 30 clemence in Capri last year and the euro price is the same, but Italy refunds you 12% VAT versus Paris 10%. Good luck!

P.S. Finding a birkin in Italy is hard... I went to the Rome, Florence, Naples stores before I finally lucked out in Capri.

i think you should just buy whatever you come across which you like, be it in Italy or Paris... the savings is really quite negligible, imo.

you are assuming birkins are easy to come by, which they are not. if you see one that you like, best just to buy first. even for slgs, you cannot rely on paris having the same selection as anywhere else!

ITA with Hanyeu. As I said before, stock in Paris is hard to tell. If you are lucky on a day that they have big shipment coming in, you will have a higher chance to get a birkin and other SLGs. However, you should also note that the quantity of shipment varies, and the items in the shipment also varies (ie. it may or may not have birkin) although FSH receives shipments everyday except saturday.

Your right. But I'd rather get it in Paris because It's my last stop plus I wanted to get the experience to buy it at the flagship store in Paris. Since Paris is my last stop on my trip I wont be too worried about money at that point anymore.:p

you should try both places, because no guarantee which shop will happen to have the one you like, if you find one, buy it without looking around more. Because they won't be in stock forever.....
