I'm really beginning to think that they let it be accessed at certain times to gauge peoples reactions to the upcoming products. They can see what items are most viewed the most and what items are being discussed in blogs, forums etc. It's strange that its accessible sometimes and not other, but it happens on a fairly regular basis. Just thinking out loud.
