Where are the Amazones?

Hm. So I was at Longchamp last week and yesterday, looking for an nice Birthday-present for me. I wanted to compare amazone and mademoiselle. I was pretty convinced I would leave the store with a mademoiselle, the amazone really got to me. I like the size (S), the chain-straps (I thought i hated chainstraps, but these are surprisingly lightweight) and the softness compared to mademoiselle. The thing is: I did like the quilted black one with gunmetal hardware and also the simple black one with silver hardware.

And although I have the money and really like the bag I am a bit shy to pay 700 Euros for a medium-prized brand (which longchamp is imo) and can't decide whether to wait for sale or to take the plain black one now... any opinions?

I have the plain black one. I got it because the quilted one hadn't arrived in my country yet. No regrets as I do think the price difference between quilted and plain is too steep. The inside is the same anyway.

I rotate my bags a lot so I can't say I wear either one a lot. Somehow I prefer my Mademoiselles more because they're softer to the touch and as an everyday bag, the Mademoiselles are bigger. I do love the chain strap of the Amazone which I normally double up

The quilted Amazone is super soft compared to the non quilted. It is a huge difference for sure.

But I do agree this quilted bag seemed pretty pricy. Especially compared to some of my recent Coach acquisitions with leather lining at lower prices. It’s holding up well but I do think Longchamp is really pushing things with the European heritage markup.

Hey all! Can anyone tell me if brandy and burgundy are same or different colours in Amazone ? I can’t seem to figure as some websites have brandy and some burgundy ; I mean longchamp websites of different countries

They are different colors.

Burgundy is from a couple of years ago; it is lighter and with more red in it. The color code (the last three digits of the reference number, which appears on the website description and on the interior tag) is 009.

Brandy is a newer color introduced in FW19; it is darker and has more brown and purple-plum undertones, best described as prune. The color code is E78.

Thanks a bunch! I like orangey reds. Some deals are available right now which include the black, sand, powder pink in Amazone but only the red in Matelasse ! I like the matelasse style more due to the quilting but the color choice is limited . I have thought about Amazone for a while and i do seem to be attracted occasionally haha! I definitely want something versatile so that i can get more wears out of it but at the same time i have this constraint in my mind about the matelasse !!!

It doesn't look tacky imho. It's also not a in your face kind of bright red. It actually is a tad muted imho. A blue based red. I saw it recently and my fren whom was with me was drawn to it. It is a red that can be dressed up and down. She paired it with her tee and jeans that day and looked lovely. I have one in black and adore mine.
