I jumped in to get my first Longchamp bag ever.

I’ve had some mixed history with the brand - my local stores and store in a store boutiques had been staffed with snooty people that steered me away.

So I have been tempted by the Gucci Marmont. But I didn’t love the hardware. It was not understated enough for me.

Over the weekend I walked by the shop and saw the snake Amazones and Matelassé versions and fell in [emoji173]️.

I decided to walk in, the staff was friendly and I took a look.

While the snake drew me in, it wouldn’t get enough use. And I saw the burgundy color. I always get black bags but I have been hunting for something burgundy. And potentially day to night.

What struck me about this quilted bag was the lightness. Even with a chain strap. I was amazed.

I was on the fence because lately I have been getting mostly Coach bags with leather linings.

This is nice as it is made in France and the branding is very discreet.

Also the strap easily fits crossbody, compared to other chain bags. And the chain is quite light.

I tried the XS, but it was too small. So I chose the S size.

The small is a nice midsized bag. The interior has a divided front pocked. And 2 interior slip pockets.

The XS only has a single slip pocket. It fits essentials - keys, lotion, lipstick, eye drops, phone, even my work badge with a midsized wallet. If you use a card case, sunglasses in a soft case may for too.

Here are a few pics of my small. IMG_2151.jpgIMG_2153.jpgIMG_2155.jpg

There is still a good amount of space leftover with those items.

Any Amazone fans? Have you taken the plunge? Do you find it too derivative?

Congrats on your Amazone! I have a soft spot for chain bags in general and I think the Amazone ticks all the right boxes with a light chain, light leather, spacious and comfy on the shoulder. Another important factor for me is that the branding is very subtle, which I prefer. I also like that it is a look that works for both dressed up and casual outfits. I am eyeing the small as well and trying to decide between classic black or taupe. Thank you for sharing what fits, it helps many others whom are deliberating over this bag.

Hi! Congrats on your Amazone! As @Cosmopolitan mentioned, I have a black Amazone, a plain size S. It has helped me become more disciplined - I realised I was carrying around a lot of unnecessary stuff on weekdays so I downsized to a 2-zip LeSportSac Pouch and my wallet just for my Amazone! I've been enjoying not carrying around extra weight in my other bags since then such as my small Cuir, Madeleine and 3D

I gotta say, the Longchamp US site is terrible! No dimensions. I can barely even figure out which bag size I got - or how it is named.

Yes U.S. Longchamp.com is in that messy limbo between the end of the U.S. sale and the European sales and the ultimate restocking for fall. Anyway here are Amazone dimensions based on NM, Nordies, Bloomies. Yours looks like the small to me.

XS SIZE ($875 quilted/$630 smooth leather) = approx 8” wide
S SIZE ($995 quilted/$695 smooth leather) = approx 10” wide
M SIZE ($1080 quilted/$775 smooth leather) = approx 12” wide

Yes, I have the small! I didn't see the M in our local boutique - only XS and S.

I've been using my Amazone most of this week, and it is definitely a practical one in the small size. It is pretty light with all my stuff, fits nicely as a crossbody, and doesn't seem to slip. It is also easy to open and close one handed.

It'll definitely stay in my regular bag rotation.

I also love the soft structure here, not so structured it is too fancy for a casual outfit. Not so unstructured that it lacks polish.

Glad it is working for you. Such a pretty bag!

So far so good. I have been carrying it most days of the week since I purchased surprisingly. The chain does leave a small indentation at the top and that is really the only “issue.”

I’ve swapped to a smaller wallet if I want to carry more stuff but it does pretty well for essentials plus random stuff.

Stays nicely on the shoulder too.

Happy to hear it. How is the lambskin wearing? Any issues with color loss or rubbing on the back or corners?

Does it have date code / serial number. Where are they located? Really like the black large Metelasse

No everything looks pretty good. There is a tiny bit of discoloring on the woven trim on the back, I assume from my jeans. But that’s it. It is literally concentrated on a small section there and doesn’t actually look much different than the edging treatment.

I have also noticed a little bit of chain indentations at the top. To be expected. And a little bit of darkening in that little indentation.

This lamb skin seems pretty durable as I haven’t been overly careful at all.

Also I have mostly been using it daily save the weekend and nights out.
