When do you replace your wallet and other SLGs?

My last wallet was a LV Porte Ettui and I used it for years and it never seemed to show wear. Th on,y reason I changed it was because I was bitten by the Bottega Veneta bug. I have two wallets now and change them at a season's change.

Great wallet, Doreen. What is that mark from? That's kind of odd. I'm not a perfectionist, but I would want to know what was up with that mark. Well, maybe I am? I recently changed from a Coach signature canvas (great purple) because it was looking dirty. Some wear didn't bug me but dirty did.:p

That's the reason I don't buy any fragile leather wallets and slg.

Mine is LV canvas. It's unbeatable! Looks like new.

Ill change it bcs I'm too tired of using it for many many years.

I keep 5-6 wallets and rotate them. If and when they start cracking, then I will give away one by one. I don't think that I have to worry about it for awhile

Doreenjoy, I think your Ferragamo wallet has plenty of life left in it.
In the past I replaced my wallets when I got tired of them. I'm not hard on wallets so I never wore them out.
When I got my prada wallet a couple of years ago, it was so much more expensive, and so special to me that I promised myself I'd use it forever (or for a long time anyway). It's soft deerskin leather and it is showing a bit of wear but nothing major and I'm not planning to replace it in the foreseeable future.

It depends, If I love it and it's the best wallet I have ever had then I will wait until it's falling apart but if It's just a okay wallet that I never loved I would look for reasons to replace it and the OP reasons would be one of them

The one thing I can't live with is when the slots go gooey and it gets all over your cards (I think it's glue that breaks down after while).

Usually I stick to one wallet until it wears out (broken zipper where the wallet didn't cost enough to justify repairing, 'gooiness' or seams coming apart).

Right now my wallet is a two year old LV ZCP that still looks brand new so I can't think of any reason to change.
