When did LV get so expensive???

Yes. The increases are verging on insanity. The one I just can’t get over is the price of my Keepall when I bought it in 2012 compared with the price now. It has almost doubled. I would never in a million years pay that for it now. It would be one thing if quality control increased accordingly with the prices...
Right??
$270 for a key pouch? Just seems a bit ridiculous IMO. But like LVlifer said, there’s probably a huge number of people still willing to shell out the money for them.

Well, I agree that the prices of LV items aren’t the same as a few years ago and it’s definitely overpriced. But Hermès and Chanel are also super overpriced even tho it’s real leather 6-8k isn’t worth it imo.

Yes, completely agree. I feel like I’ve said this loads in different threads here recently, but I’m genuinely so thankful that I have most of, if not all of what I want from LV. The vast majority of newer pieces do not appeal to me, and the classics I like I either have already, or I wouldn’t even consider paying the asking price even if money was no object.

I think that’s the difference for me. I would never want to pay upwards of £4K for a bag. Of course technically all luxury fashion goods are overpriced. None of this stuff is close to worth what the pieces are made of, and in most cases the craftsmanship doesn’t justify the price tag either. Chanel doesn’t have many, if any, pieces that appeal to me/fit my lifestyle, and Hermès, while I appreciate the beauty of their pieces and I’ve owned a couple of items, is generally not a brand I’ve ever lusted after. LV has always been my favourite brand, which I’ve loved for many years, much more than any other brand — but even with LV, there’s a limit. If I was just starting out collecting now, chances are I wouldn’t be willing to pay what most of the items I have (or closest equivalent available now) now cost. Thankfully I’m sure that most of what I have will last for many years to come, if not forever!

I agree with you. It’s luxury items not affordable items, if you want affordable prices I would suggest everyone to look for a contemporary Brand. LV is also by far my favorite brand despite the quality and the PIs.
Ive had YSL, Gucci, givenchy, Chloe and more.. currently all my bags are LV besides one coach shay that I’m wearing for regular shopping so I don’t need to worry at all.
I can’t take Chanel and Hermès serious anymore and watching those big unboxing on YT by some people makes me questioning how a person can have so much money and also I willing to pay so much for a bag or even a few bags.
I never wanted a Chanel bag and not a Hermès bag. I still got a lady Dior on my wishlist and that’s for it.
At LV you can get a beautiful full leather bag under 2k€ and at Chanel a full leather bag isn’t under 3k€ even a classic flap is now 6k and that’s crazy for me personally. I would rather get 3 LV bags!

Yes. The economists would call it marginal utility. What is the increased satisfaction of adding one more goods/ service. How would it make me feel to get one more bag if I already own so many over the years. I guess it's part of getting older too. I have less need for physical things and long for more spiritual goods: eating healthy, exercising, spending time with family and friends, and just appreciating life.

I've also pared down quite a bit fashion wise because I think a lot of the clothing/ bags aren't exactly geared for women my age (40s). But still, I can't understand how really young girls can afford $8000 bags and share their reveals on YouTube. That sort of money can support a needy family for quite a while. Maybe they don't have a big family to support so they can concentrate on themselves. I dunno.

It’s a sad reality when influencers are earning more money then really important jobs like nurses and caretakers..
also big fashion houses usually gift them the bags and some of those young girls doesn’t need to work because of their rich families.
