I guess the title could be a little misleading, but I haven’t shopped for anything new in a long time. Maybe I’m not remembering the actual prices I paid, but it seems that the prices of new bags are wayyy higher than one or two years ago.
Also, most canvas items are out of stock? Is this just related to supply chain disruptions or is it just the direction of the company in general?
Sorry if this thread is redundant but I’m honestly just surprised.

Same here. I’m so surprised how much LV prices have jumped in the past two years. I slowed down on LV right before the pandemic and prices are really high. The cosmetic pouch, which I took for granted as a staple is now hard to find and is $550. I cannot remember the exact price but I could have sworn it was in the mid $300 just two years ago? Same goes for the poch cle, mini pochette, neverfull, etc. A lot of fashion houses are pricing me out.:confused1:

Yeah, if you shopped like I shopped from the 90s on, the inflation of these luxury goods is almost criminal. Same thing at other fashion houses. I will never put down $8000 for a Chanel handbag nowadays, when they cost $1000 $2000 tops in the 90s and early 2000. But lots of young girls do nowadays thanks to social media and competition of course.

LV is moving towards its leather products and phasing out canvas.

Now, the most I'll spend on a handbag is around $3000. Anything more doesn't bring me that much joy anymore.

As an avid LV handbag collector for quite some time I do find the current prices to be a "turnoff". I imagine that I might buy one, but I seem to have lost my interest in doing so. For me- handbags do not seem to be worth so many thousands of dollars. I think I will just enjoy the one's I have. I do not think I will spend more than $2,000 if I do end up buying one. I am tired of shelling out so much money for a handbag. I would bet though that LV will find plenty of buyers for their products!!!!

Yes. The increases are verging on insanity. The one I just can’t get over is the price of my Keepall when I bought it in 2012 compared with the price now. It has almost doubled. I would never in a million years pay that for it now. It would be one thing if quality control increased accordingly with the prices...
