I can't do minis usually, too cute ha! I don't think of the Soho Disco as a 'mini'. I always think of miniaturised classics as true minis, whereas the SD is size it was first made.

Thank you, and yes it should have a leather lining! It is ridiculously priced for the size but it really is a holy grail for me. I will have it forever, lets hope the lining holds up :smile1:

allylou, this is such a classic, forever bag, there is no doubt about it, it is money very well spent. I have a 5 real ostrich bags, some very big, some small, some light, some dark, and some squishy and some structured. You could not have done better, as a little bag you can wear anytime any place is worth more than a bag you can only wear for this or that event/time of day. Totally made the right call.

Loved the 'small' (it's tiny) ostrich 1973 too, did you see that one (I have it in black satin and Swarowski crystal studded HW) Very hard decision choosing between the gorgeous variations

This is stunning! The hardware just complements the shape of the bag so well.

The Miss Dior Promenade pouchette is super popular, and is a holy grail mini bag to many on the Dior forum here. This bag has won some devoted Chanel fans, too.

Thanks so much for letting me know that ! :smile1: Can I ask you how the leather on your ostrich bags wears over time? I am always so afraid when out in a restaurant that someone will spill something on it ! I am super over protective of that bag! I have heard ostrich is durable but spills or stains scare me!
No I didn't see the 1973 bag! Its beautiful!!

Gorgeous!! That pearlized pink is soooooo beautiful, I wish I could afford this :sad: I had seen this model and can't remember the price but I remember it was expensive!

Well, I kind of got my HG mini bag... :graucho:
Which was Chanel python mini flap in green...

BUT there is always room for more! Right now a mini bag I am pining after the most is this one- Fendi Peekaboo in Mini, also python. I tried it on at BG a few days ago and *loved* it. Never been crazy about Fendi, but this one really, really calls to me... :girlsigh:

Ostrich is not supposed to look 'new' forever but gradually build up a really fabulous patina. The leather gets softer and more fabulous with time. What was matte new gently becomes a little shinier and (non-black) darker.

Natural, neutral colours age better than other colours IMO

Rain os no problem

Don't spray with usual protectors

Don't apply creams or lotions made for other leathers (see below)

Only let Gucci take care of your bag if it becomes necessary

Grease is the enemy, including the natural oils from hands. Keeps all lotions, moisturisers, oils etc banished around ostrich. Keep your bag safely away from food in restaurants (I'm sure you do this with all your bags anyway)

Any top-handle handles should be covered by ribbon, twillies or worn with gloves until the bag develops a natural, overall, patina which also helps to protect the leather. The Soho Disco being a shoulder bag should be fine with no extra care

BTW, I've a 15 yo Prada ostrich jacket LOVE it more now that when I first bought it, still looks great

That to me is a proper 'mini' :tup:. A cute, perfect little canapé of the regular Peekaboo

I also never used to look at Fendi but their bags haven't looked as desirable for 10 years

I'm with papertiger on the "mini" definition - the soho disco is gorgeous, but I would consider it a crossbody or small shoulder bag. Now something like the Gucci mini swing would fall in that category. That is a gorgeous ostrich disco though! It will go with everything.

I know!!! I don't know what socerey they are doing with the brand... but lately they have been pumping out some totally gorgeous bags impossible not to covet.

Nowadays I don't understand what can be considered as Mini. So this post is more like a question because I am really confused.

Some of my bags under Mini categories are bigger or about the same size as my other bags that r not Mini. Example r my Mulberry Mini Bayswater. Then there's Fendi PETIT 2Jours. Why both this bag so called - PETIT n MINI bag r bigger than my LV Pochette Metis/Alma BB etc! My Anya Hindmarch Mini Carker is quite small in my definition but not as small as LV Nano or some really small bags I've seen from Prada, YSL etc.

Apart from small clutch, I guess my only real mini is Chanel Classic Mini Flap, Vintage LV Mini Speedy, Vtg Bally, Vtg Cartier, Vtg Feragamo but none that I can consider as my HG. Fendi Baguette n Chanel WoC should be under clutch, right? [emoji15]
