I have a .32 DBTY that I wear a lot. My .14 in yellow hold rarely gets worn. My parents bought it for me in my 20s and feel that it was not enough presence on its own when I was in my 30s. I wear it layered sometimes with my .32. I’m hoping to get a 1/2 carat one day and hopefully I will be done at that point.

Luckily for my budget I really like small and dainty, I’m very happy with my .07 pendant and .16 ctw studs. I’m 29, maybe later I will change my mind  but I’ve been wearing them for years so it was a good investment for me

As long as you love it - that’s all that matters. My opinions are based on my experience and my style- I will be 39 this year. There are many Tiffany pieces I bought in my 20s that I still wear and love. For me the .14 just wasn’t one of them I wear often. I still wear my 16mm Open Heart, Small Loving Heart, Starfish, etc. I just wanted the starter of the thread to think about size and how the piece fits in her life over time.

Yes I understand, when I got the dbty I was going to get .03 but I figured later on I would want bigger so went for .07. For now I can see myself still wearing it as a perfect size for a while, but it’s very hard for me to imagine what I would want to wear in 10 years!

Also I really hope to have children one day and I would love to pass them down to my daughter when she reaches a reasonable age, I have very few things from my mum

Oh it looks so gorgeous on you! If you dont mind telling me, what's your ring size? I don't want anything too big since I tend to wear my jewelry 24/7, but I'm also a size 8 with pretty large chubby fingers lol!

Thank you @ReiChan1! My Paloma love ring is in size 5.5. The ring is super comfortable to wear, so much so that I don't feel it on.

Definitely get whatever makes your heart sing for your first Tiffany's piece :), whether that's the love ring or something else!

Thanks everyone for your kind and generous input!!! As a student, my budget is still pretty low, probably no higher than 600-750. I adore DBTY and the open heart/bean necklaces, but since I already have a couple diamond solitaire pendants (my favorite being my 0.30 ct solitaire) and just a lot of necklaces in general, I wanted to steer away from necklaces (although of course, when a larger diamond piece from Tiffanys becomes in my budget we may need to change that!) Ever since losing one of my diamond studs a couple months ago (they were only 0.25ctw nonbranded total so it wasnt a huge loss or anything, just shook me up a little) I've been hesitant to buy any sort of earrings that are either more pricey or don't have a secure locking mechanism. I'm still leaning towards the love ring, although I'm still definitely up for other thoughts! Also looking at the smaller smile bracelets, although i do want to save for the one with diamonds on it instead of just going for the solid gold... what do you all think?
I would save a little more money and get a platinum piece or gold with a bit of diamonds. With platinum, you don’t have to worry about taking it off before getting in water or any color changes. Yellow gold is fine too.

I have the love ring and honestly it’s one of my fave pieces and it styles beautifully with other rings including my engagement ring and photographs well. The writing and wrapping of it is very clear. If this is your first Tiffany piece going for some recognizable flash in terms of the open heart bracelet is a great choice. If you have your heart set on the ring and aren’t overly concerned with people picking up your ring is from Tiffany’s you certainly won’t regret it! Good luck!

My first purchase was the Paloma Picasso olive leaf single band ring which I fell in love with and still wear every day. My second was a dbty pendant which I also wear everyday, sometimes layered. I also got the daisy key when it was less expensive but sold it later on

How about a bean bracelet? I like the bean as first tiffany, thats what im planning for my daughters.
Im in the minority here as dbty just doesnt excite me. I frel like wvery brand has a version of it now.
My first tiffany gold was earrings. That eas a long time ago though and a bit harder to fit into a budget nowadays.
