We all know that handbag designers come and go ... some never make it to the light of day, some flare brightly for a brief time, and some ... they're here for a number of years and then disappear. It is that third group I want to know about, and will start this thread with:

Andrea Brueckner. Where is she now? She was popular during the early 2000s.

At one time I was head-over-heels in love with her Mini Luxembourg Satchel, and had it in the most gorgeous purple 'warrior washed cow' leather, as well as the most clear red leather I've ever seen. I also briefly owned her Cardiff Satchel in Crema, but found it too big for me (at the time; now it would be a great fit!).

I've attached photos to stir your memory. At the top (or left) is the Cardiff in Crema, at the bottom (or right) is the Luxembourg (large size) in red.

Tell me, whatever happened Andrea Brueckner?

Feel free to use this thread to post your own 'whatever happened to ...' requests.

I like this idea, though I'm pretty sure both of these designers now just have cheaper, less popular lines, I really miss Bulga, they had the most amazing leathers, and same with Gustto. I luckily have one bag from each of these lines and the leather is truly to die for on both!

At least they are still in existence. I can't find a thing about Andrea Brueckner, and that just freaks me out.

Luella Bartley! My Korean royalty roommate owned SOO many of those bags in pastel colors with little hearts. Did not get the appeal, but they were pretty popular for a while right?

That aside, gotta give her credit for encouraging me to eschew MBMJ for the women's collection. I have fistfuls of dresses I don't think I'm ever going to wear again. Like that dress on the far left (ugh).

I wondered that one too! I remember her bags being everywhere in stores and then just disappearing.

LAMB by Gwen Stefani. I loved the styles and the variety of prints (coated canvas) and they were very high quality for the $300 range. Good wallets, key pouches and cosmetic pouches too. It's possible they are still made but I haven't been able to find any in Canada for years - used to be sold at Holt Renfrew and the discontinued prints used to be sold at Winners. I have two bags that are about three years old and other than having to have one of the zippers re-sewn they still look brand new.
